If Travis keeps playing at this level all season, I think the calls to give him the Heisman will be so overwhelming that there is no way he doesn’t win it.
I think there are two possible competitors.

1. Jeanty breaks Barry Sanders single season rushing record.

2. Monster numbers from Milroe and Bama is undefeated, he'd be seen a singe handedly stopping the expected post-Saban dropoff.

Even then, I think a 1200+ yards 15 TD, 4+ INT season from Travis seals it.

Correct. It would present an existential conflict for the award itself and its voters.

Hunter game speed is insane. It's like Jerry Rice. That's why I keep saying, Hunter has a chance to be literally the goat at WR
He is so smooth he never looks like he is running hard, then you see opponents who are speed guys giving it everything and Hunter is moving faster.

He could be the GOAT at WR but that same athleticism could make him the GOAT at DB.

Used correctly he is a guy with potential to make game changing plays on both sides of the ball each week.

As a WR he can take simple patterns and turn them into TDs from anywhere on the field. On defense he not only shuts down his man but in a very similar fashion to what Prime did his awareness lets him come off his man and create drive stopping plays. So far this season Colorado has forced 8 turnovers, Travis is responsible for 3 of them.

Add that we saw the "superhuman" INT and it was great. He was in open space when he made that pick, in the NFL he gets up and nobody catches him.

Everything says you can't play two ways in the NFL but everything says you can't do it in college and play 120+ snaps per game.

The NFL game is more physical and there are a lot more games but there are also fewer snaps per game. I could easily see Hunter playing 80 snaps a game on both sides of the ball. He is simply to impactful to not figure out how to make it work.

Otherwise consider it this way. Are you the coach who would make Deion Sanders sit on the bench when it matters? How about making Jerry Rice sit? You need him out there.

Just don't look at the box score in the Boise game

I think Travis wins it before Jeanty, assuming both stay healthy and playing the way they are right now. I remember huge blowback when Detmer won it over Ismail and Bienemy, and the WAC was a more highly regarded conference in 1990 than the MWC is today.

Amazing memory for a 35 year old.

I think the big thing will be whether or not Jeanty breaks Barry Sanders' record. Maybe not that Jeanty wins it, but that he and Travis split the non-QB vote.

My thoughts on Heisman race:

Milroe, Ward, etc. are putting up incredible numbers - just like some QBs last year, and the year before, and the year before that- and next year.

Hunter is doing things we have never seen -and doing them at an all-American level.

Jeanty is putting up numbers you don't see every year (or any other year) - 10 yards per carry, that's incredible.

It's a long season but at this point it should be a 2 man race.

Watching PS2 in the Broncos game and see Hunter playing a similar game. His ability to not only shut a guy down but to come off and make plays on balls to other guys is rare. The superior athletic ability, ball skills, etc. but also the understanding of what is happening and ability to make plays over a wide area.
