Travis Hunter Appreciation Thread (Awards: HE12MAN, Walter Camp, Biletnikoff, Bednarik, Lott, Paul Hornung, AP PotY)

On one of the videos, CP is asked about people who say that a negative about TH, is his low number of tackles. CP laughed and told the reporter, 'if your cornerback has 8 tackles, you have problems'. Most all of a cornerback's tackles would be because they completed passes against him.

I'm starting to think Travis might not return for his senior year.

Would be nice to have Travis back but those miles on his body can't be rolled back so he should just go.
There's just no sane reason for him to come back. His stock won't get any better.

Hmmmmm..... be the #1 pick in the draft or stay and risk injury to move up to..... the #1 pick in the draft.
No question he is the best player in college (arguably, of all time) and deserves the Heisman, but I see him more like the 4 to 6 pick. Imo, NFL GMs aren't going to see him as the 2-way player he has been in college, but as a position player who can bring extra abilities on occasion. I think SS has a good chance of being #1.

Many of the smarter pundits who actually played football believe that he would be great as CB1 and WR3, meaning play every snap at cover corner, ala Surtain, and then play about 30 snaps as an extra receiver on passing downs

I agree. I think they will draft him based off either his stand alone grade at WR or CB. Is he a top 5 pick at WR? Is he a Top 5 pick at CB? Anything else is gravy that he contributes on either side

Most mocks I've seen have him going 1 or 2. It'll come down to who has the #1 pick. If they need a QB, they'll go with Shedeur or maybe Cam Ward. If they have a QB, they'll pick Hunter. Which is going to be the same thing as if he waited til the 2026 draft. QB hungry teams will always take QBs.

Mock drafts aren’t super accurate. I would be interested to see how true NFL GM’s/scouts view him

FYI - Had a text conversation this morning with a former player who is now a GA at Wyoming. He thinks Jeanty is good, but in no way Heisman worthy. Said the whole staff basically felt the same.

I have to think that Travis locked it up yesterday. He had a couple of near picks that (aside from helping us get an elusive stop), would've sealed the deal, but his receiving day was outstanding.
I took a little insurance against the bets I have from August on him.

On Friday the field was +250, today it was +500.

Vegas has him as a lock.

Does CU do enough to recognize Rashaan Salaam? Does Travis know enough about him? Hopefully someone from Rashaan’s family can be in New York.
I feel that since he is gone, he does not get that weekly love and admiration he deserves.
