Urban Meyer stepping down, Ryan Day the new OSU HC

The only thing I could think of is he doesn't have to leave the LA to fill his roster at USC while OSU is a job that recruits nationally. But for an Ohio guy, that would be a weird move.
Yeah I always thought/heard tOSU is his dream job. Dude has a top 5-10 team every year, going to win the BIG just about every year and just needs to avoid getting shellacked by a middling BIG program and he's in the CFP every year.

Why does he want the SC job over tOSU? Easier path to the CFP? Warmer weather? Seriously.
He left UF when he had a perpetual MNC machine. Of course, he ran out the door one minute before the NCAA arrived, but still. Then he goes to tOSU, runs the table, gets bored. It is his MO. My gut is he wants to go to SC. Maybe it is weather, maybe it is ego, maybe it is the pizzazz of LA. In the end it is only a guess, but I would not be the least bit surprised if the day after tOSU finishes the season his agent starts working the phone.

I thought ND was actually his dream job, but they wouldn't relax their academic standards enough for him.

Also, isn't there a trend going of Ohio people on Ohio based teams leaving for LA?

He didn't leave Florida in very good shape. Pretty much night and DAY compared to what he is leaving at OSU.

tOSU was the longest he's ever been at a place. Urban seems to burn out and likes the freshness of a new challenge.
Meyer wants to be the GOAT in regards to being the first MFing coach ever to win MNCs at 3 different schools.

If this is the case, I know of a school that has a coaching vacancy right now in a p5 conference that could make the playoff next year!

How do you feel about selling our souls to get another National Championship?!!

I'd go a lot further with selling my soul than Urban Meyer. I'd consider that a bargain in the price of a soul game.

Ugh... I'd do it, but I'd feel a little dirty doing it.

He ain't coming here though. If/when he gets back into coaching, it'll be at a place that it's easier to win at, like USC.
