One of the biggest things that we had last year that was so darn special was the physical ability and willingness to tackle from every single defensive player, especially all of the NFL DB's! Chido was and is an above average tackler, and everyone else was willing to go in and tackle like a mother. That willingness is not quite in this backfield group yet, as you see lots of high tackles, arm tackles, and gator arm tackles. The amount of yardage prevented by good tackling is huge. Hopefully, these young boys can learn that.

We actually really miss a Julmisse in a game like this with his speed.

I coach with an OC who calls this all the time and says, "let's just see how they react." Offense would come off every time and say to him, "They reacted faster."
We are really thin at Safety and DB right now!!!
We have great success with play action. Why do we avoid it?
I've lost any respect for Helton's coaching ability that I had left. They are play calling themselves into a close game here. They could run us out of this thing but they're getting cute.
The Depth Chart lists the same people at various positions, rather than having a legitimate 2 or 3 deep. With Moeller out, Oliver slowed up, and Fisher a little dinged on that play, we are gonna be really hurting later on. Rakestraw needs to play today, and maybe even Trego if he can contribute.
