Classy Fitz jock sniffer names the anonymous accuser and gratuitously calls out Deion Snaders as what's wrong with college athletics as a comparison to how clean and virtuous he thinks Fitzgerald is.
What was the hazing stuff; what were they doing?
I'm assuming you're not serious. If someone could post a synopsis, I'd be appreciative.Hiding socks, making the freshman recite Walt Whitman and allegedly a few other things.

Thanks for the actual link. To anybody else who is wondering it sounds like what happened was when a younger/new player messed up there was some signal given and they would be dry humped. You want us to wipe your ass for you, too?Come on, man. It’s all in this thread that’s less than 2 pages long.
Former NU football player details hazing allegations
Content warning: This article contains mention of hazing, sexual assault and suicidal ideation. A former Northwestern University football player told The Daily some of the hazing conduct investigated by the university involved coerced sexual acts. A second player confirmed these details. Oh it happens everywhere. There comes a point where all in good fun goes too far. I keep coming back to the example of Tim Tebow's "Friar Tuck" rookie haircut. 10 years ago......that was likely seen as all in good fun. Hell, the entire city thought it was funny at the time. Would that fly now? I doubt it.The thing is, I can an 100% sure that "hazing" of some sort or another is going on all hundred of other colleges and high schools in all sorts of different sports, is not isolated at Northwestern
Been going on since day dot
A young BuffBronco was subjected to it at CCHS in the mid 90's under Coach Woolford, everybody knew about it and was just part of the "deal" of playing HS sports rightly or wrongly. "Boys being boys" and coaches just ignored it
No different to bullying and picking on the "non-cool kids" outside of sport
Shouldn't happen, but does and will probably will happen for ever as kids are cruel

There was also the Hispanic former player who had "Cinco de Mayo" shaved onto him and related how a coach was complaining about a mess, then singled him out as the person who would know best how to clean because he's certainly got family members who do it for a living. You want us to wipe your ass for you, too?Come on, man. I did that exact thing at Sackygate! I was also insecure about my authority there. Thanks for the actual link. To anybody else who is wondering it sounds like what happened was when a younger/new player messed up there was some signal given and they would be dry humped.
Seems that maybe some folks waited until after the investigation concluded to come forward. I don't know why - maybe they wanted to get back at Northwestern and certain individuals rather than risk their testimony being sealed within an internal investigation by an institution which they believe failed them and they don't trust.Am I the only one that thinks that this is an INCREDIBLY bad look for Northwestern?
They had a supposedly independent investigation get all of these details, and concluded that a 2 week suspension was appropriate, and only after the details came out to the public did they fire him. What changed? they certainly had all of these details if they did a thorough investigation.
Hmm... I guess that's possible. I didn't read the situation that way- I thought that the anonymous whistleblower's testimony was the reason for the investigation, and after the investigation concluded he decided to go public with details that weren't released by the school.Seems that maybe some folks waited until after the investigation concluded to come forward. Probably limited the investigation to the specific anonymous allegation and were hoping to quickly put it to bed while taking an insignificant CYA action against Fitzgerald for something that didn't seem all that egregious when presented as a one-off.Hmm... Either way, I would say that if the scenario you lay out was true, then they didn't do a "comprehensive" investigation that included all the testimony from all parties. Either they were incompetent or malicious.
I agree with this-Schill and Gragg (their president and AD respectively) need to follow Fitzgerald out the door.Am I the only one that thinks that this is an INCREDIBLY bad look for Northwestern?

An extra $2M or more per year with the clock starting on new long-term job security when the place you're at isn't resulting in brass ring job offers? Yeah. He'd take the job.Hot off the press - potential replacements for NW
I laugh at the idea Campbell would leave ISU for NW. Yes, NW has more media money and facilities projects in the works, but that dude is either going to get a much better gig or avoid that academia slanted self suicide.
Who will replace Pat Fitzgerald? An NFL OC, Power 5 head coaches top Bruce Feldman's list
Would sitting head coaches like Mike Campbell and Dave Clawson be tempted to move to Evanston?theathletic.com
Paul Chryst would be the only on that list who they'd have a shot at.Hot off the press - potential replacements for NW

He'll sue.Fired for cause. SIAP
I was depantsed once during winter workouts my freshman year. I had just transferred in from another school at the semester too. Nothing more after that, probably due to my older brother’s friends’ little brothers and their friends either putting a stop before it happens APB out, or just deciding I wasn’t cool enough because I wasn’t on the baseball team?[typos make sentences funny]
Man, I must either have lived an incredibly sheltered life, or been sooooo far from cool that I was never, nor never witnessed, hazing or bullying.
This doesn't seem to make sense. And in other news, Fitzgerald's public release basically said he met and agreed to the suspension but was blindsided by the President's unilateral decision to terminate and he's got legal counsel responding.
