Calling your shot. I hope you're correct. He's been inching in this direction the last few weeks. He's submarining his own culture in order to argue for his job. Another nail in the coffin for him. We've seen his Icarus level.
Also, I've been thinking this for a while, but I'm convinced of it now. No inside info, but HCMM is gone within 48 hours of the final whistle next weekend. Calling it.
Those two jobs you mention pay about $600,000 a year. MacIntyre is not going to quit CU and forgo his $3+ Million per year over the next 3 years. He will wait to be fired. Also if CU takes the approach to wait to see if someone will hire him instead of firing him outright, that handcuffs them from finding another coach.
I missed Bounds leaving the team for personal reasons...... any insight?Media has turned on MM. Howell’s article today calls him out on the injury excuse nonsense.
I think it pushes the 48 hour mark, but gets done just inside of it: Monday morning after Utah. Also, I've been thinking this for a while, but I'm convinced of it now. No inside info, but HCMM is gone within 48 hours of the final whistle next weekend. Calling it.
They should do it sunday. Monday is the start of game week.I think it pushes the 48 hour mark, but gets done just inside of it: Monday morning after Utah.
Letting mm coach jm for senior day is a reasonable thing to do (as long as you're taking the time to get a head start on the coaching search), and it builds a little good will in the coaching community, which is never a bad thing.
But I think Darth is right. He'll be fired within 48 hours of the next game. They'll plan to make it public Monday morning, but it could leak on Sunday.
I have been solidly in the MM camp until the OSU gam and have been further pushed into an irate stage with the lame excuse making by MM.
I know we are in a better position than when he arrived but MM is a huge poser. He does not have the sack or the intestinal fortitude for a P5 job. I hate to say it but @sliderNcider has been right. This guy is not fit for the job and needs to be run out on a rail.
I would give him until this Sunday with Jay being a senior. Let Kay and the Seniors have their day and then wipe out the staff Sunday. Make Chev or Roper the Head for one week. It does not matter at that point. Make the move and get it over with.
MM is done and has not future here. Move on and make Sunday the start of takingnit to the next level
I think the coaches, and maybe team (which is where the leak will come from if it does) will all know Sunday - but the goal will be to hold it till a Monday AM presser (at which mm will *not* be present). They should do it sunday. Monday is the start of game week.
If we give a fired head coach a presser on campus, I'm going to be oh so pissed at RG. That was the dumbest ****ing thing ever.I think the coaches, and maybe team (which is where the leak will come from if it does) will all know Sunday - but the goal will be to hold it till a Monday AM presser (at which mm will *not* be present).
Agree with your first sentence, fixed your second one. Also, no way it doesn't leak within 15 minutes of anyone on the team other than Jay being told.

That's stupid as all hell. Rip the bandaid off. What if RG decides to can him and let him coach against Cal and in a bowl game if this team makes one? The biggest thing as soon as the move is made is getting a guy in place for the early signing period.
Well the rumor is he quit since the staff refuses to use a TE besides as a blockerI missed Bounds leaving the team for personal reasons...... any insight?

No. It's really really stupid to fire a coach and then let him coach a bowl game.Meh I think we're getting a little too granular-As far as the assistants, I'd like to keep Chev if he's willing to go back to just being a position coach, and I think you could make an argument for Drake and maybe Hagan. To me there's more than enough to not warrant some sort of audition for one of them.

It's a stupid idea, and it was stupid when ASU did it. Winning the south this year is lowest of bars. Dig in if you want to, but the idea is dumb.Arizona State did it last year, and they're probably going to win the South this year. As soon as the move is made, the only thing that matters is getting the search done and giving the new guy enough time to prepare himself for the early signing period.
People need to realize this and stop with the “CU gonna CU” mentality. Nothing about the AD under George has been like the AD of the past.I really don't think that's an issue. RG's avoided any significant new expenditures for a while, hasn't announced any new project plans, and Howell said that the $$ are there. I think RG has been building the war chest for his next hire and has focused on raising the endowment and the donor base. This is not the CU athletic department of the past.
Hagan has been nothing but mediocre. Look at our depth through the years? If it weren’t for Phil just being the dedicated player and tough workhorse he was, we would have never had a standout running game because of a lack of talentMeh I think we're getting a little too granular-As far as the assistants, I'd like to keep Chev if he's willing to go back to just being a position coach, and I think you could make an argument for Drake and maybe Hagan. You have to pay for bags at Safeway? Will I, or won't I wear a Safeway bag on my head the Saturday after Thanksgiving? RG could save me ten cents.

Outside of Adams and Jeffcoat (and obviously Bernardi), Hagan is arguably the most disappointing and underachieving coaches MM has had during his 6 years. Never really pulled in a big time recruit, couldn’t develop any actual depth, and actually lost a commitment from a kid who is a major contributor as a True freshman at a top 10 program.Hagan has been nothing but mediocre.
