Wyoming Game Week Thread - Saturday at some ungodly time

This is actually pretty wild, considering we have been talking about how the run defense is awful. Truth is, it's actually been pretty good, they just haven't been able to get off the field in short yardage situations.

I don't have the stats/splits to back this up, but this tells me teams just haven't been in 2nd or 3rd and long situations very often against CU. They make sure it's positive play after positive play, even if it's only 3 yards at a time to set up 3rd or 4th and short.

If I'm Livingston, I'm loading up to stop the run on every 1st down play

The run D isn't good against quarterbacks.

The new name better not be soft. Something like Mauler, Destroyer or Bitch Slappa or Azzkickr or The New and Improved Quicker Fvcker Upper
Disagree. We have a real live buffalo mascot. I prefer a light-hearted, soft name that then runs like a rhino. If you have a crappy, weak-ass mascot—like a dude picking corn—you need an over-stated, macho name to compensate.

Hallelujah! The curse of the absent Ralphie is broken. Long live Ralphie VII!
And...just like that our season completely turns around and we go undefeated the rest of the way!

Glory, glory Colorado!

Looking at the list of former Ralphie’s , it looks like Ralphie VI (Ember) was the only Buffalo from NE, Chadron, I believe. Was she a plant? I think so. How about naming Ralphie VII after a historical figure in CU lore that passed away this week in Robert Redford?. The name Sundance or Hobbs (like Roy Hobbs, The Natural). Can’t call her anything with his last name.

SUNDANCE is actually pretty damn cool

SUNDANCE. IF THIS IS NOT THE NAME WE RIOT.

“Resemble” is doing a ton of heavy lifting here. LOL

I think the problem is in the details of each play and what isn’t being focused on or taught: An initial hand placement here, small counter-step there, subtle brush of a combination block dealing with a stunt, etc.

It’s like teaching the Option: few plays, but the smartly taught details executed by everyone in sync make ALL the difference.
I do not know why you’re being obtuse and acting like a Pat apologist.

What? I was saying exactly the opposite: the problem is in the coaching/focus/ understanding/communication of the details of the offensive plays, which you suggested resemble normal offensive plays in concept.

I think Shurmer IS the problem, not the players.
