Karl Dorrell officially named Colorado HC

I read that, and it changed my take a little bit. Still not thrilled with the idea of another Saban clone, but two conditions with his contract. One, we can move on from him for nothing if he relapses. Two, he needs to agree to a buyout of at least $10m if he wants to move on.

Saban clone? You don’t know who Sark is do you? His biggest mentor is a guy named Pete Carroll, look him up.

I have friends that are coaches. Typically some kind of notice comes out way before it hits the media. Always back door negotiations going on.

Hey Kap, I know you could go to Auburn and get that SEC money but check this out: The Michigan State head coach is going to retire and I am at best the third choice on their list—-and I’m a psychic so I know that their top choice will turn them down after meeting with them at MSU and not liking the fit. So when that happens I’m going to use the local media to leverage more money out of them before bailing on Colorado. So stick with me and we’ll be laughing all the way to the bank in 6 weeks! - Mel Tucker to Kap (in your mind).

Once again, the entire problem with your theory is that Tucker wasn’t the top candidate for the job. Stick around because other people might turn down a job and then give it to me which will enable me to pay you more isn’t a compelling argument to stay somewhere.

Saying Tucker was their third choice is a little misleading. Feldman said over and over that he had a ton of support from the people with power at the school. So while they probably let certain administrators go after Fickell there were plenty of people there that preferred Tucker.

Believe what you want, thats fine. Just saying MT knew something was going down, is it really that hard to believe he had some insider info?

You dont believe in back door dealings? Why was MT the only one that got a 2nd offer? While his OL was turning down better deals? Cmon man. It aint that had.
Can you explain your timeline? I don’t thunk it works, but I’ll give you the benefit of a doubt.

Kap likes Mel, followed him here. Kap turned down better jobs than CU. Why? I guess we will see if he follows Mel to MSU. Hope I am wrong and he stays.
Mel is gonna choose Kap over current MSU OL coach? Perhaps homework is in order.

I dont have one. We cant believe what we hear either. Remeber MT was commited to to the build at CU on Monday. Just the facts... Kap turns down Mizzu and Auburn? Why? When? Does anyone know when Kap was offered by them? Maybe the paycheck was not better? doubt it. Then your HC leaves for MSU with top level pay for assistants. I guess we will see if Kap jumps ship. If not, i was wrong.

Unless you can show a plausible timeline, I won’t the irrational thinking. Onward.

So... you have nothing but wild speculation without any evidence whatsoever. And why would Kap leaving be evidence you were right? That would mean nothing either way. His HC just left, of course he's looking for work. If he stays, it just means he didn't like the other options.

No, him having inside information isn’t hard to believe. But him having so much inside information that he knew every other candidate would turn them down (In retrospect, Tucker put that now infamous tweet out because he thought Luke Fickell was taking the job) and used all of that inside information to convince Kap from taking other jobs is insane.

He might end up going to MSU but it won’t be because Tucker knew how the chain of events would play out, it’ll be because he’s offered huge money.

WTF, You can't read. I never said if he leaves I was right....he has many reasons to leave. If he stays I was wrong. I hope Im wrong.

I can work with speculation that MSU formed a search committee in Jan or so with the intention of getting a new HC in 2021 and CFMT was informed that his name was under consideration for the open position coming next year. Thinking that Coach Cap turned down current job offers because CFMT MIGHT get a look in 2021 is too much of a stretch.

I'm saying that either way, it doesn't mean anything about your theory cause your logic sucks.

What are everyone's thoughts on McElwain. Winning 10 games his first season at Florida and 9 his second is very impressive and he would be available now.
I like it. He's a bit of a wildcard, but he's gotten it done at pretty much all his stops along the way.

I never said it wasnt a stretch. Why would Kap turn down Mizzu or Auburn? This is total speculation, just seams odd and brings up questions.

FWIW hearing from a friend at Barstool that CU is kicking the tires on Jason Candle. Buyout is 450k I believe. He was a hot candidate two years ago but I guess they didn’t have a great season last year bc I haven’t heard his name lately.

That might be the most uninspiring choice I've heard yet. Literally zero years of coaching or playing experience at the P5 level.

On McElwain, I'd agree he is a wildcard, but I just don't see CU choosing an old CSU coach. He has done good things. I'm not sure how well he did recruiting while at Florida. I just don't see it, unless the impression of him within the CU building (RG, old coaches, guys on the current staff, certain boosters) is truly excellent, which it could be. Also, a good question would be whether he wants to bring in a completely new staff and do a complete rebuild.
