2020 CU football season POSTPONED until Nov 6th?

...the ACC is considering a ten-game schedule consisting of a home-and-home between five different opponents.

Notre Dame would also be included and count in the ACC standings, and there wouldn't be any other games against teams outside the league

It was kind of funny reading comments from Alabama's AD and TAMU's AD. They seemed more concerned about finding replacement opponents than facing reality that there probably isn't going to be a season. Maybe they do that for their own idiotic fanbases.

I had some replies to the Allbuffs account that there was "no reason to cancel anything, none of this is backed by science."

I'd be very surprised if the SEC was the first to do so.
I would be also but when they do it would give a solid shove to any that haven't already.

We have already had the Ivy League go. Next will probably be one or more of the G5 conferences, doesn't make sense for them to play without fans in the stadium financially.

Could see the PAC (or some other conference but PAC most likely) being the first P5 to go when state governments start making the call for them, If California says school is on-line, no large gatherings i.e. football games then you have 1/3 of the conference out, can't imagine that the State of Washington wouldn't follow quickly meaning 1/2 the league.

The SEC though is the big player in terms of reputation and the big hitter financially. Hard to imagine other conferences not following their lead.

The BIG makes almost 10 million per year more than the SEC. They give no ****s what they are doing

Looking at this through a political lense has led many astray. Hopefully we can start working with reality now instead of trying to hope this crap away.

one thing that has become abundantly clear to me in all this is that people are swayed by politics more than reality.

can anyone confirm or correct that this is a binding decision which applies definitely to the private schools also (e.g. given this announcement, USC/ND is absolutely not happening)? There's been a lot of chatter here on AB that USC might do their own thing.

The decision was made by the PAC-12 CEO group, which consists of the conference’s 12 Presidents/Chancellors. I believe USC’s President is the chair of this group. I don’t think they’re going to deviate.

Don't know how many saw this but Fowler basically says behind the scenes most administrators are not optimistic about playing at all this fall.

One interesting thing that Fowler mentioned in this video is that some programs are asking players, coaches, and staff to sign COVID-19 waivers in order to make the college football season a reality.

Yea, 1st thought was WTF?? These kids aren't getting paid and now asking them to sign waivers on a disease that can leave them permanently damaged. No frikin way they would do that if it was my kid.

Even if you’re getting paid as a coach or staffer, your job isn’t worth long-term illness and/or death. My employer is requiring significant waivers prior to us re-visiting dealerships for a new initiative. There’s no ****ing way. I didn’t sign a waiver the previous 2.5 years of my job. I’ll go back when they won’t ask me to sign another.

What if they say you won't have a job to go back to if you don't sign the waiver?

For starters, I don’t think that’s legal in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Even if it were legal and that’s the line that they are willing to take, then I will find another job.
