Why was Noyer moved to DB?

Fine, year before. Regardless, why ask these questions?
And we saw so little of him the year before that it is hard to make any definitive statements.
In 2018 he threw a total of 14 passes all season with no more than 6 in any one game. Not exactly a representative sample size.

What kind of presents?

Totally agree but what we did see didn't exactly inspire confidence, hence the gigantic meltdown when he was named the starter. We can all pretend that the previous coaching staff was clueless and we would have competed for a BCS berth if we'd only started Noyer over Montez.

Well who knows how Noyer looked in practice. Some guys aren't good in practice, but step their level up in games.

This is also why I was constantly pissed that MM/MT wouldn't put in ****ing anyone other than Montez. You just never know what guys might do.

It is worth reiterating what NW said, Noyer did get some time and didn't look good. Granted, if memory serves, a lot of that time was vs Wazzu when their defense was legit and it was a ****ty rainy windy game, so he probably should've gotten more of a chance.

I also seem to recall Duff asking an open question before last season that was something to the effect of, "will we come to regret Montez starting at QB for 3 years?"

Yes. Very yes.

I watched noyer go through progressions and hit the open man. I thought that was against the rules.
Also Montez is like cutler or mello to me. Good/great talent but ultimately did not make the team better due to poor leadership.

IMO, the last staff wanted to move on from the older bench players, which is likely what led to Noyer “losing the QB2 job” and subsequent move to Safety. There was clearly no QB1 competition and adds a little more to the narrative that Tucker is/was a good recruiter, but might not have a clue when it comes to the other aspects of being a HC.

Also, don't forget: Montez = Ten Cent head! How many wide-open receivers did we watch him ignore with his locked-on-to-Viska stare?

Right now Noyer is showing a lot of Sefo characteristics. Leadership matters. Very, but pleasantly surprised with Noyer's performance so far this season. With all the gyrations with the O-Line, that group has surprised me the most, though (and, of course, feeds Brou's and Noyer's performance.)

People are forgetting how bad Noyer looked the few times he got in last year. Admittedly it wasn’t much but he didn’t show anything. I’m really happy for him and the team this year. Connection with the staff and the other players, another year of maturity and the lightbulb going on. Who knows but there’s no reason to second guess the past. Enjoy the now while it’s good.
Your post assumes that the lightbulb wasn’t already on. You got any data or proof of that, other than some straw man bull**** that is couched in his performance as a 3rd string in total garbage, lack of reps time?

IMO, one of the intangibles that Noyer will eventually need to show everyone is leading the Buffs to a win after trailing the whole game.
That would be great but right now I'm just happy to see us winning some games when we lead most of the game.

Noyer was moved to safety for two reasons.

1. Noyer did and does in fact rhyme with destroyer. The story writes itself there.

2. He can't catch worth a damn, so he was moved there just like WRs who can't catch.

Try to keep up people.

nm, highlander beat me to it

You could tell that when there were mis-communications or missed routes between Noyer and his receivers and then there were calm conversations among them, that Noyer was leading

And when Noyer mis-threw to a receiver, he patted his chest saying "my bad".

Very Sefo like -- I don't know for sure, but I would assume Noyer was here when Sefo was playing and saw his skills in leadership and taking control of the offense and (literally) running plays (vs Montez)

Did you see the huddle at the end of the 3rd quarter? He had a message to the offense and they were listening. The kid is leading. This is his team.
Agreed. Montez was never a leader. He acted like it, but never had his teammates behind him. I know this from watching and from talking to players.
