Official Arizona Pregame/Game Thread

On the surface, the difference between AZ and CU is that CU won it's OOC FCS game and AZ lost its. Putting those two games aside, the AZ offense has been better than CU's. Not a barnburner, but better. And the Wildcat HC seems to be involved in decision making and strategies on the sideline; there are indications of physical animation, hearing, speech, and responsiveness.

The AZ defense was gashed by UCLA's running game on Saturday and that, combined with being 0-fer, and on the road, are the only reasons I can think of that CU is a 7.5 point favorite in this game. A very weird line, to anyone who has watched all the 2021 Buff games so far.

Arizona's defense is horrible. As bad as CU's offense. I can't believe I'm actually going to watch this game

All of the money is coming in on Colorado. -7.5/-8 in many shops from a -6 opener. Is their defense so bad that Chev will look semi-competent?

if we lose to a team that's lost 16 striaght....AND we have tow week to prepare....there's no reason for anybody to say that Dorrell should stay past midnight.
This is a no-excuses game. None. Worst scenario for a coach in his position.

I hope we get killed.

Man, I feel dirty just typing that, but it's true. Time to clean house and hire a COACH, not a coordinator.
Lol. We wouldn't be this bad if we hired a coordinator. Dorrell is a career position coach.

Haven't watched a minute of CU football since I saw the 3d quarter against ASU. But I have watched some press conferences.

Karl says no changes on staff other than some "prep" responsibilities being moved around.
Just a ****ing bummer that RG has let the football program get back to this point where even the diehard fans are becoming totally apathetic. Can't stand him.

He did thank me for my feedback. Seemed half hearted.

CU will win and I think it’ll be similar to the UNC game. Not necessarily 35-7 but just a clunky, ugly multi score win that will have people saying, “maybe these changes worked” and wondering if they can replicate it against Cal, who is the 3rd worst team in the conference, next week.

I gotta say, I very much may be rooting for the Buffs to lose this game. And lose it badly. I hate myself, but something drastic needs to happen to spark change.
If what we have already done to stink things up isn't enough I doubt the powers that be would notice us losing to Arizona. Win and they may twist it into justifying some kind of positive spin but I don't think they care if we lose every game.

This sucks.

Yep. I posted in the Hoops thread that I'm thinking I may just hit Tad's open pratice, tailgate a bit and leave. No way I want to give this program any more money. #BasketballSchool #BoycottBuffsFootball

Gunner Cruz, the AZ QB who will start, has started 2 U of A games this year - against BYU he was 34-45 for 336 yds, 1 TD, 1 INT. Against San Diego State he was 10-19, 70 yds, 1 TD, 1 INT. May have been pulled from that game, I don't know. He's a big guy, a transfer from Wazzu.

The U of A defense has given up 24 to BYU, 38 to SDSU, 21 to Northern Arizona, 41 to Oregon, and 34 to UCLA.

I just don't know if CU can generate any consistent offense for an entire game.

We did have a ground game last year. UCLA had one last Saturday night. Pretty sure UCLA's OL is better than ours. We shall see.

I have a sick feeling that middle-crossing routes will turn into gashers against us. I can't shake it. Backup quarterbacks are the worst!

I'm rooting for the Buffs and will be in the stands cheering until I'm hoarse.

Gunner's first name is giving me concern....

Based on what I’ve seen, the next game they prep for will be the first.

What coach with any kind of potential future would consider working at CU right now? You guys literally scream to fire every coach you've ever had since I've read your threads.
