NIL act passed - NCAA allows athletes to monetise their name, image, likeness

The perk of being the #1 recruit and already from a super rich family - you get to do it your way. Money isn’t the reason why you go somewhere in that case.

Quite the gene pool there! I’ve heard it said that Cooper was the best of him, Peyton and Eli.

I’ve gotten to the point that it’s going to be really hard to care about college football going forward. It’s taken all enjoyment out of the game as a fan. CU doesn’t have the resources to compete, and it’s becoming more and more obvious going forward the whole operation is a giant house of cards. I’m in no way mad at the kids for getting what the system allows, but there has to be SOME rules…

David Pollack said this morning that "NIL" stands for "Now It's Legal" followed by him & Desmond going off on their disgust at how toothless the NCAA is.

I find some of the pearl clutching by some in the media bit annoying given how many of them were hand waving away the concerns many fans had with how damaging these unregulated changes were going to be for the sport. Particularly ESPN which has really damaged the sport by pumping their house league.

ESPN is turning in to the Fox News of sports. They amount of times they said SEC over the past 3 days is a cross between AAF and dangerous to the future of the college game.

Not that I disagree with what he’s saying, but why record that in your car with two days beard growth? Is that a thing? Did I not get that memo?
Have you not been in the Politics/Religion board in the last 2 years?

I’ve developed a theory on this NIL stuff: all of these law makers passing and broadening the rules of NIL were somehow picked on by jocks in high school, and now they are playing 3D chess to accelerate the destruction of organized sports.

The purpose of NIL was to make it possible for players to get paid by boosters in an above board manner. Big time college football has been a multi-billion dollar business for decades that’s mostly benefited schools and the NCAA. Only a few players have seen real riches. Getting the best players is still the name of the game. Unless and until people stop watching major college football, the desire to produce winners will continue. I for one will be tuning in to see U$C’s all star team play next season.

Lots of players on that roster now. Will Hollywood Lincoln Riley be able to make this into a cohesive team? The incentive to play well is definitely all there!

These recent transfer-in’s make me wonder how B. Rice and Blackmon feel about getting on board now? Better spend or save that money while it’s coming in!

They both finished spring as starters on depth chart.

Riley vs Sanford
Advanced pro schemes vs ??
Ball distributor vs Lewis who locks one
Legit Heisman potential vs JT
Heavy WR rotation vs ??

time will tell.
