Never seen Brian Howell this frustrated

Or we hire his dad. Which is what I expect to happen.

KD has burnt this program to the ground through utter incompetence. Good on the beat writers to finally call him and his coaches out. Dude is an absolute disgrace and will likely be pointed to as the reason CU is not in a P5 conference after realignment.

KD didn’t hire himself.

A competent football coach has this program competing for bowl eligibility year in and year out, even with the disadvantages that CU has in place. KD is an historically awful coach and needs to go now. Firing him improves the program instantly.

KD is terrible and completely responsible for this s**t show of a football program, but the comment I was responding to was about CU’s place in the realignment landscape and that responsibility falls squarely on the guy who hired a coach that 99.9% of America knew was a bad hire. I don’t blame KD for accepting the job (just everything he’s done since), I blame the guy who offered that job to him in the first place.

I was thinking about this earlier - and obviously recent history is skewing memories on this - but did ANYONE outside of RG/LC/KD think this was a good hire? And I don’t mean the people who argued “I could see how this works out…” because that was a somewhat legit thought process. I remember national media mocking it and I mostly remember the news leaking out minutes before a CU basketball game and completely killing the crowd and deflating the whole arena. And that’s not hyperbole either as the guy behind me who is at every game said “**** this place” when he heard the news and got up and left.

I think you had a lot of really nice things being said about his character and I’m sure the words “solid” and “stability” were probably thrown around but don’t recall any glowing reviews on this hire from anyone. The fact that he’s viewed as a genuinely nice man and not a sleaze ball probably prevented lots of pundits really trashing the hire at least initially.

I was in that arena. Everyone was on their phones trying to figure out who the hell Kardboard was. Team collapsed in on itself in the second half.
