I believe the owners weigh out the risk and reward.
If they dont feel he is head and shoulders above the other QBs, who would want to put up with the extra BS he brings with him.
Personally, SS does not bother me in the least, but Im not the one paying him $$ to be the face of my organization.

I also think having his number retired was a bad look.
There is no one in the football world that saw that and didnt think to themselves, WTF.

It didn’t hamper Travis, but it’s the Sanders family. They’re polarized. It pisses people off even more that they don’t drink or do drugs.

You watch Travis, he is always smiling, always having fun. He is just built different.
He makes a big play and is all smiles and dances, he doesnt act like SS, where it comes across cocky.
I would bet if Travis last name was Sanders he doesnt win the Heisman.

I have NBC news free streaming on in the background. I don't recall them covering sports often. Just did a piece on Shedeur being the biggest story of the draft on not getting drafted. This is all pretty wild

I'm not sure of your point? are you defending Tua? If so, then to your point, Tua is a good QB but his health is a major liability. . . maybe I am just slow and misreading your post.

Secondly, this thread is kinda full of dumb. So many posts saying, people don’t like his attitude, his dad, his race, whatever. And a whole bunch of posts saying that the NFL ignores stuff as long as they like his game. Put two and two together, people.

There are a ton of brash athletes in the NFL, of all races. There are a ton who came out of college brash. The only thing that Shedeur has that other guys don’t is Prime as his dad, and I honesty don’t think Prime is that much of a deterrent. Which means only one thing - they don’t believe in his game.

We don’t have to agree with it. I personally think, as a dude who watched him in person for 10 games, that he has the most pro-ready game I’ve ever personally seen in a college QB. But I’m not an NFL scout or GM.

I hope he goes tonight (not to the Raiders, Nik). I actually think this can be ideal for him. He’s going to have a lot less pressure from the start. Maybe he doesn’t even start next year. That’s not a bad thing for a rookie QB. Even if he’s got a pro ready mind, maybe he can work on himself physically, and work to be a better QB all around.

I think he’s going to prove a lot of people wrong, and he’s going to be more successful than Jaxson ****ing Dart. This will add a lot more fuel to that fire. Go get em, SS2.

The “narrative” could have indeed harmed S2. Part of his deal with Lewis (often discussed here) was that S2 didn’t like the WR option system used by Lewis whereby receivers run routs based on D.

But that’s what they do in the pros.

So, yes, this kind of info shared by Lewis could indeed harm S2.

But the reason he didn’t like the WR option routes is because he couldn’t count on the WRs to be where they were supposed to be, which will be less of a problem with Pro WRs.

Agree with this one, even though a new coaching staff brings uncertainty. Aaron Glenn seems like the kind of coach that would be good for Shedeur. But Shedeur wouldn’t have the pressure of playing right away.

I just want to see him get to a good situation where he has a chance to succeed. If he does, I think he will have a fine career.
