Seems like at the very least, DJ Eliot, Ross Els, and ShaDon Brown have checked the positional coaching boxes so far. There are a lot of promising names making plays, even guys we weren't sure would ever contribute meaningfully. Freshmen are making mistakes but starting to self-correct at those positions and we haven't been hearing about how fish-out-of-water they are like we heard in '16 (and before obviously).
There's still a lot to be answered about recruiting, gameplanning, gameday coaching, adjustments, and Eliot calling a defense but I really like the hires so far. It's actually beginning to feel like there was a plan in place even if the hires took annoyingly and ineffectively long to make and hurt us in recruiting.
