I don't think it's about priorities so much as available resources.Yeah, Alabama is unabashedly proud of being a football school at the expense of everything else. CU will never be that. Personally I'm ok with CU's priorities.

And it's not like this investment is going to put their recruiting or performance over the top or anything...Not really. The coach who follows Saban is going to have it rough.
Yep. Next guy could be hated for having success similar to how Gene Stallings did there. Despite that, there won't be any shortage of candidates. Not really. The coach who follows Saban is going to have it rough.

Yup. Team who wins everything every year spends 600 million to upgrade everything = will have difficulty recruiting or winning.
It’s going to take a long time of Alabama sucking at this point for them to start losing the recruiting battle.
He’s worth 25M a year. At least. They were recruiting just fine and still struggling before Saban. Bama never stays down long, but they definitely have bust cycles.

Klatt weighs in.. ****s on Pac 12
I could see P12 and ACC being interchangeable at 4 and 5, if you're looking from top to bottom, but Clemson is almost a lock for the CFP and bumps them a little higher. Not sure there's an argument to move the P12 any higher than 4, though. Big 10 is the clear winner, though.I get that the bowl performance was bad last year (even thought the regular season record against other P5 teams was solid and Rosen and Falk didn't play in their bowl games) but Washington, Stanford, USC, Utah and Oregon seems like a pretty solid top 5 in conference to me.
1. Washington/Alabama/Clemson/Ohio State/Oklahoma
2. USC/Auburn/Miami/Wisconsin/West Virginia
3. Stanford/Georgia/Virginia Tech/Michigan/TCU
4. Utah/Mississippi State/Florida State/Michigan State/Texas
5. Oregon/South Carolina/NC State/Penn State/Oklahoma State
Yeah the Big-10 is no question number one and would be number one if it was just the East lol, but I could easily see how the Pac-12 moves up. The ACC doesn't seem very strong, atleast in my eyes, and that is why people think Clemson will have a really easy time getting to the playoff. The Big 12 looks pretty meh and at this point looks like the conference that will miss out on the playoff and the SEC looks pretty top heavy with Auburn and Alabama (Georgia lost a **** ton of seniors off of last years team so I think it will be a lot tougher this coming season).I could see P12 and ACC being interchangeable at 4 and 5, if you're looking from top to bottom, but Clemson is almost a lock for the CFP and bumps them a little higher. I just went with the media poll for the Big 12 BTW.Big 12, ACC, and Pac-12 are interchangeable. The deference to Texas is astounding.
Ya...Big 12, ACC, and Pac-12 are interchangeable. The deference to Texas is astounding.
Klatt has Horns at 14!?!?Big 12, ACC, and Pac-12 are interchangeable. The deference to Texas is astounding.
We have no idea if Texas is going to be good this year. That is simply an assumption that more often than not is wrong.Ya...
Just because Texas is going to be good this year, doesn't mean that conference as a whole is going to be better.
I have a lot of faith that Herman is going to turn that program around. They have the talent, and now they have the coaching. I think they will surprise this year.We have no idea if Texas is going to be good this year. That is simply an assumption that more often than not is wrong.
They're a QB and a healthy OL away from being top 25.I have a lot of faith that Herman is going to turn that program around. They have the talent, and now they have the coaching. I think they will surprise this year.
Well if everybody has them ranked and expects them to be good, will that really qualify as being a surprise?I have a lot of faith that Herman is going to turn that program around. They have the talent, and now they have the coaching. I think they will surprise this year.
