2018 College Football News

This is truly inspirational.

So I'll refrain from making wildly inappropriate jokes like "the scandal sure cut that program off at the knees" or "because you don't need femurs to rape". Because that would be wrong.

I saw that, and you're right, but I just can't bring myself to contribute to Baylor's bottom line.

It’s Louisville, does it matter?

Thank you for being an example to us all. In that spirit I will refrain from mentioning that Baylor wants to be inclusive by giving short girls a football player to be scared of as well.

If you live in an apartment that has a view of the Alabama practice fields, you are required to sign a secrecy agreement. Knock me over with a feather.

Must be nice to have enough money to not really care if the Head Coach leaves.

I said at the time of the hire that this was the worse deal ever done for a HC in CFB. The guy left FSU worse than he found them. He's not a very good coach, once the talent that his predecessor left him moves on. His teams play with zero discipline. A&M must win in next two years, as it will be worse from there, independent of their recruiting classes ratings, they will get worse.

I’m actually wondering if his contract sets the market for big time college football. Fully guaranteed at 7.5m per year and absolutely zero is owed back to the schoolnif he leaves? Is that going to be the new normal? If so, CU and other middling programs are ****ed.

I'm less worried about HC pay. This will also compound the mistakes other programs make. What is much more concerning to me is the salaries the ultra rich programs are able to pay coordinators and position coaches. If it gets to the point where a coordinator job is a better deal there than a HC job is here (or position coach there is a better gig than coordinator here), that's when the money has tilted the wheel way too far.

Not if but when. The crossover point is roughly the $1.8 million Aranda gets at LSU, which is more than the 63rd ranked (by salary) head coach, Major Applewhite at Houston. MM is 43rd on the USA Today info from 2017:
