Has to be after eating there though. More ‘explosions’ that way during the fight. Bring nose plugs and maybe a raincoat if you’re in the front two viewing rows.

I wouldn’t take that Kansas job unless I was desperate, had never been a head coach and was offered a 10-year, guaranteed contract. David Beaty is truly one of the best guys in our business, and he wanted to be a head coach and he believed — like we all do — that you can win anywhere with the right combination of players and commitment. Here’s the problem with Kansas: It’s nearly impossible to get players, and the commitment from those running the show is hit and miss.

That team wasn’t even close to winning a conference game, weren’t even competitive for the most part. That’s what’s scary. Believe me, David is a good coach. But that’s one of those programs that just beats you down.

They’re just not that good defensively. That’s being nice. No speed, no size in the front seven, no guys that can disrupt. No guys in the secondary who can break on the ball. I will say this: They played hard. They’re not that talented and they’re limited in what they can do. But they were fighting play after play. That’s a good sign that they believe in who is coaching them and how they’re prepared.

Yeah. I just read that and felt bad for Beaty. It looks like an impossible task right now. He also had like the highest rated QB recruit ever to commit to KU on board, but Lance LeGendre de-committed this week. With the competition for him, I don't see them getting him back on board. I think Beaty will be gone this year and KU will spend money on a replacement. Beaty will be someone in high demand as an assistant. Very good coach.

You’ve got Cal above us right now? Or are you saying from a national perspective not seeing how some of the talent we lost has potentially been replaced and upgraded?

I think Cal and CU are pretty equal. I think there a definite drop from those two teams to the bottom third of the conference.

So you'd swap CU and UCLA in this ranking, in terms of how the Pac hierarchy stacks up? I don't really care about the national rankings

Nebraska is WAY too high-they are in the first year of a drastic culture change. If that were Chip Kelly or Mark Helfrich there instead of Husker Jesus, they wouldn't be anywhere near the mid 40s, and probably down with ASU and Wazzu. They're the worst team in that conference not named Illinois or Rutgers.
