2020 CU football season POSTPONED until Nov 6th?

100% disagree - it is absolutely progressive fear-based politics at work.

CU athletes are already being kept in a bubble which has virtually eliminated any risk of community transmission. All CU athletes were recently tested - zero positives. But let's not use common sense and lock them down like fraternities/sororities.
What bubble have they been kept in? I want CU football to return as much as you do, but man you are dumb

We get it. In defiance of all evidence, you believe that COVID-19 poses no health risks to young people. No need to continue to parade your stupidity in every post, we've all been convinced.

COVID poses practically zero health risks to young people. I saw the first indications of this back in late February from the Italy data, and the evidence has been clear on this for months. I don't expect to convince you if you haven't already been convinced. But your idiocy is duly noted.

SHUT. IT. DOWN!!!!

I will repeat what I've sad a million times. CU Boulder probably isn't thinking much about football at the moment. They have overflowing isolation dorms, have been dealing with on-campus students getting quarantined, and just told all their students that they can go home and finish remote if they want. While I'm sure that RG and the AD are thinking and hopefully working on this, I suspect that CU as a whole has their focus elsewhere

Do you understand that they're finding non-fatal damage occurring to Covid positive patients? Do you also understand what 'community spread' means?

Extremely low fatality rate does not equal zero health issues, which is something your simple mind seemingly doesn't grasp.

It’s BoCo health, not the city. I think the health department can do stuff like this.
As a state owned property, it does not fall under the governance of any local (city/county) oversight. This is why CU has it's own police dept, and the current guidance includes only properties that are not on the campus.

CU can just move its football training camp out of Boulder County.

Nederland is still in Boulder County. Estes Park could be an option and I played football at that school for two seasons. There is a practice field south of the high school next to the lake. Stadium is just north of the stadium with night lights. Four baseball fields at a nearby park are there and outfields could be used for group positions. The players will need to get used to kicking elk droppings around but the groundskeepers have the appropriate gear for removing those.

Use the NAAC in north Arvada. Probably a lot closer to Boulder than Estes Park is.

Are we looking at the same PHO?

I didn’t see that before. My bad. Now I am intellectually curious how this is governed given that it is from a health agency. I will say that Boulder and BoCo have a history of getting out in front of themselves with this type of stuff and claiming that they have governance when they do not. Point is, this could be valid, or it could be completely unenforceable (as has been the case in the past with directives from the city and county). But it really doesn’t matter because CU will comply anyway.

CU athletes are in a bubble? They don't live with other students? They don't go to parties and class with other students? I don't think you understand how a bubble works. NBA players still in the playoffs haven't seen their families or friends in over 2 months. THAT is how a bubble works.

I will say that CU athletes should be in more of a bubble like scenario than they likely are. It is more doable for a college athlete in some ways who are already away from home than a professional athlete.

news article says almost all the addresses in Exhibit A are greek orgs. I really hope the narrative on (virtual) campus is "the frat douches tried to ruin the football season"

CU had 21 positive tests yesterday. Huge fall from the days prior. Thank god they locked the kids down today, and couldn't wait to see if prior measures helped.

It is VERY progressive, and officials aren't going to stop jack squat. Out of all these cases, there are approximately zero hospitalizations and zero deaths. COVID is running its course through the Boulder population, and no amount of progressive policies are going to stop it. All these policies will do is prolong the course of the disease. Pretty progressive, and very stupid. But I repeat myself.
“Im ok with spreading a disease, people getting sick, and some dying. So long as my selfish entertainment needs are met”

College kids gonna college kids. There is zero bubble unless you control their movement outside of practice/lifting and we know that's impossible.

We will see in about 1-2 weeks if this spike translates to more hospitalizations

This is good news, as it gets the area closer to herd immunity. Community spread has already happened, so as usual, progressive policies are being implemented after the horse has left the barn.

The worst thing these progressive idiots can do at this point is: 1) Send kids back home; and 2) SHUT IT DOWN!!! But of course, that is exactly what they are going to do. Liberals ruin everything.

There have been 0 examples of COVID-19 communities getting to herd immunity by encouraging spread. Only distancing, masking, tracing, and shutting shyt down has worked.

Regressives ruin everything.

"Herd immunity" is the new idot indicator, much like "show me the birth certificate" was.

COVID-19 Updates & Resources
CU Boulder shifted to temporary remote course instruction, effective at 6 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2020. On Sept. 24, Boulder County Health issued a public health order that places the residents of specific off-campus properties under a mandatory Stay-at-Home order for 14 days. The public health order also prohibits gatherings of any size for all residents of Boulder aged 18-22 years old for the same time period. The order is effective Thursday, Sept. 24 at 4 p.m.

Pursuant to public health orders, the campus is currently closed to the general public. Only people who are engaged in essential campus operations, are attending approved in-person courses, or are receiving care at UCLA hospitals and clinics are permitted.

UCLA will be moving to remote-only instruction for the fall, with the exception of a limited number of in-person or hybrid courses.

Updated SEPTEMBER 24, 2020

There have been over 1200 COVID cases at CU. This is not progressive politics, this is managing an epidemic (poorly, I might add).
I agree, poorly managed by the universities. No general students should have been allowed on campus, but the universities needed to justify charging full tuition, and they can't lose out on room and board charges if the dorms were left empty. It was just a ticking timebomb.
