COVID poses practically zero health risks to young people. I saw the first indications of this back in late February from the Italy data, and the evidence has been clear on this for months. I don't expect to convince you if you haven't already been convinced. But your idiocy is duly noted.

SHUT. IT. DOWN!!!!
Sweet baby Jesus you are an idot. Why don't you and 233 get a room and watch Fox News together or something....

It's good to see TallBuff's avatar as it reminds me of better days when we all frequented the look-a-like threads and his mastery in them. I miss those days.

You were questioning the bubble. I told you they’re trying. I hardly post on here but it’s gotten toxic for reasons I don’t understand. But I hope you feel better now.
A bubble that means anything is what the NBA and NHL have done. Telling college kids not to socialize with non football players, while commendable and noted, is not a bubble.

100% disagree - it is absolutely progressive fear-based politics at work.

CU athletes are already being kept in a bubble which has virtually eliminated any risk of community transmission. All CU athletes were recently tested - zero positives. But let's not use common sense and lock them down like fraternities/sororities.
All you do is regurgitate platitudes and buzzwords. Add something of substance or hold off on posting.

It’s been fun guys but I’m out. Unless you follow the mob you will be persecuted. Write my first post in months and everyone decides to be a dick. Wish you all luck.
When I get grumpy in these forums I always go over to the recruiting forum to cheer me up.....its funny, ….maybe.
Don't worry we will all be united in sadness soon. Maybe we can get a group rate on grief counseling.

Man, of course this comes down the day the Pac 12 is deciding. No ones fault other than the students themselves. Can't blame the health officials as they have to control what is going on.

However, with my experience with health departments and COVID, health officials typically will work with groups, say the CU football program. Ultimately, they don't want them going some place else, practicing, lifting, and doing everything else and have that possibility of transmitting. There is nothing BOCO can do to control them from leaving and doing so. I would think BOCO would work with the AD on an exemption. The AD seems to have been extremely diligent with their approach so far (other than hiking gate).

Yeah, if it's between granting an exemption for athletics due to XYZ, and the football team and staff going to Golden/Mines to practice and train, I would hope they would allow the exemption. I guess we'll see what happens this evening when the vote goes down and things are set in motion (or not).

Yep, and I can almost guarantee that RG has told them they will go elsewhere if the county does not work with them. Based off the above tweets, it seems CU has been the most vocal about starting and you know they aren't going sit idle.

We will see in about 1-2 weeks if this spike translates to more hospitalizations

Here, I'll look into the future for you. In the targeted age range of 18-22, the answer will be no, there won't be more hospitalizations.

Edit: To be clear, I'm talking about from cases before the order, as well as after, because there are effectively no hospitalizations in that age range either way.

This is good news, as it gets the area closer to herd immunity. Community spread has already happened, so as usual, progressive policies are being implemented after the horse has left the barn.

The worst thing these progressive idiots can do at this point is: 1) Send kids back home; and 2) SHUT IT DOWN!!! But of course, that is exactly what they are going to do. Liberals ruin everything.

Now, I would never call any poster here a complete ****ing moron incapable of any critical thought. However, I might suggest that only a complete ****ing moron incapable of any critical thought would think that

  • Boulder County is anywhere near herd immunity
    • according to the Mayo Clinic, we'd need about 70% of the population to get COVID to achieve herd immunity
    • Boulder County has about 326K residents. Boulder County has confirmed about 4,000 cases of COVID.
    • Only a complete ****ing moron would think that 4,000 is anywhere close to 228,000
  • The costs to the Boulder community would be "worth it" to achieve herd immunity
    • Right now, there have been 79 deaths in Boulder County due to COVID out of 4,000 confirmed cases, meaning about 1.95% of the infected population has died. This is significantly lower than the Colorado and US average (3.03% and 2.86%, respectively)
    • Projecting that out over the population, it means that somewhere between ~4,300 and ~6,700 additional deaths in Boulder county alone would likely be required to get to herd immunity
    • Only a complete ****ing moron incapable of critical thought would suggest that a path towards herd immunity, which has not been confirmed in any other community worldwide, would be better than using the proven method of isolation, contact tracing, testing, and masks
HTH.
