2024-25 Coaching Carousel

i had a gf who took Ward C's FBI at Pine Ridge class. She was into it, but she also drew this cartoon of him wearing a huge belt buckle that said "ME". It was pretty funny.

Ward's specious record with "research" was known by a lot of people a decade before he was fired. I remember reading a Colorado Daily thing about it in 1990 or 1991 at Penny Lane. Also, Ward claiming tribal identification was very much in question and maybe even denied by the tribe itself. Jus sayin'.

I took that class, was a great class. This may come as a surprise but Ward was a really good classroom professor, got the whole class engaged and debating and was tolerant of everyone’s views. But the whole time I was in his class I was thinking this dude ain’t got a drop of native blood in him.

I worked at a store that Ward Churchill bought his cigarettes at. We made sure we had stock for him because he came in on a pretty regular schedule, it was something like 10 cartons of non filtered Pall Malls a month. Dude smoked like a chimney.

I do. I took his "FBI on Ruby Ridge" class. The two required textbooks were books he authored. It later turned out the two books were full of plagiarism. Only a small segment of the class was focused on Ruby Ridge and the Pine Ridge Reservation. It was mostly focused on the history of, and significant events perpetrated by the FBI.

However, the thing I remember most is that some coeds seemed enamored with him and he seemed to interact with them in a way I thought inappropriate for a professor.
I have no idea why... But Kenneth Branagh's Gilderoy Lockhart is popping into my head as I read these posts on Churchill.

So he wasn’t invited to the championship ceremony. OSU folks think there’s some sort of conspiracy that he did something wrong (other than take the PSU job).

I read an article about some of the text messages he received after the Michigan game.

Absolutely disgusting.
Just won a natty in pretty dominant fashion with the consensus being that he had also assembled the most talented roster in the country.

Yet the tOSU faithful would generally average out to be unsure about whether he's the right man for the job and a good number are frustrated that the playoff run made him untouchable for at least a year.

I f I was him, I'd be telling my agent to be open to other HC opportunities. He seems to be fine with the pressure cooker of an elite job, but this situation isn't fair or healthy. His results are reminiscent of Bobby Bowden but they treat him like he's another John Cooper.

Hypothetically speaking, if word spreads that Day might be listening, who do you think picks up the phone to give it a shot? Which program with the necessary resources and pull is out there that'd take the risk of completely nuking its relationship with its sitting coach if word got back to him that they were talking to Day?
