2024 Big 12 Preview

I don't think these analysts realize we were an Oline away from 8 wins (at least) and we are just about to have that fixed.

Gotta prove it to those analysts on the field. They are not going to fall for the hype again like they did last spring & summer and the early part of this season. Those analysts will not ignore the fact that CU has won only five conference games the last three years especially 1-8 this season even with those close losses.

I think CU might be a darkhorse for the B12 championship but it appears that Arizona, Utah, and Kansas would be the early frontrunners.

Two of Iowa State's three B12 losses were to OU & UT. Their other loss was to KU. But they got to travel to Utah, Kansas, and WVU who is another potential darkhorse.

WVU lost at Houston due to that hail mary pass, they were leading OSU 24-20 at the end of the 3Q before losing by two TDs. Their road schedule does not appear that difficult and they won in Stillwater last year. They haven't had much luck against TT the last few years. That Arizona trip will be tough but they should beat Cincy. Their home games are BU, KU, KSU, ISU, and UCF.

Texas Tech does not play KU or Utah. They are coming off a disappointing season and they could bounce back.

We'll see about TCU but they could be good for a bounce back season. They have to travel to Utah and Kansas though.

I do have CU as high as 10-2 with the losses to KU and Utah. That might get the Buffs into the B12 CCG but it's a crowded field of potential B12 contenders. The sad fact is that CU hasn't won at least four conference games (outside of the 2016 season) since 2007. That means CU has just two winning conference records since 2005. People are going to be skeptical of CU until proven otherwise.

We just came off a 4 win season. I am not "expecting" to beat anyone.

Can't disagree with you on that. Gotta prove it on the field.

Bowl game is my goal for the Buffs. It's a big ask for another 2016 run in a competitive conference.

every time i look at this conference, i get a little depressed.

there are no great white whales, no death stars, no dragons the size of smaug.

i want to win every game by 30 and make them all cry.

the pac refugees should do well next year.

play the teams on the schedule, beat hell out of them, repeat over and over, hope that conference realignment comes again.

Not gonna lie...it's starting to sink in with where CU is in the CFB world at this point. Nothing we can do except win more games.

OOC is hot garbage until we visit Gainesville in 2028.

It could be worse...we could be in the MWC right now with CSU as our biggest rival.

i admit i had a great time at the tcu game and i will road trip to a few more of our new conference opponents.

****, i had great times in ames and stoolwater back in the day too. little manhattan and lawrence even.

the big thing for me is there is no dragon for us to slay. we had the fuskers and ou. we had them plus atm and ut. we had usc and oregon and uw.

now i suspect we will ultimately be the dragon. that is not bad but it will be different. the good news is i think CP is a perfect coach to build a top running bully.

biggest conference games i am looking most forward to are against ex-pac teams.

in the next round, we do what we think we can do and we will get where we want to be. ****, i would feel a lot different if the b12 and acc did some kind of a merger -- i can work up a good hearty hatred for fsu and clemson.

only a single post in between.

Guy is a hater in the comments but looks like Vegas has higher expectations for us this year (in part to the schedule too I’m sure).

I think 6.5 might be too low. CU should go 3-0 again in OOC and there are three B12 games that are guaranteed wins: Cincinnati, Baylor, and UCF. KSU, OSU, and TT are looking like wins for me which gets us to nine with Arizona, Utah, and Kansas remaining.

I think a reasonable goal for CU next season is a winning season, bowl game, and a winning conference record of at least 5-4.

When you look at the returning QBs for the Big 12, I do not ever recall the Big 12 or Pac-12 losing so many starting QBs like the Big 12 is about to do. I listed Alex Bowman because it's not certain if he will return to Stillwater for another season. Stats are sorted via the YDS column.

This underscores the need for the Buffs D to take the next step in generating a pass rush and stopping the run. Do both and the Buffs OL keeps Shedeur's jersey clean, there's no reason to not see CU playing in the Big 12 CCG.

Can the Buffs stop those running QB types because there appears to be more of them in the Big 12 than the Pac-12? I cannot unlive those nightmares of an Arizona backup QB shredding the Buffs D on the ground.

Things must be dire in Waco that Toldeo's starting QB is transferring there with one year to use.

TT looked like they could have added a couple more TDs to that win over Cal. That road trip to Lubbock will be tough.
