They don't matter. We control our own destiny. Three more wins and we go to the playoff.
Nik and Tatanka, if Nebraska were 7-3 and in 5th place in the B1G, then that bias would help us in polls and perception.
The Nubs becoming a joke and the fact that folks say that Nebraska "Crushed" us does not help our cause, or that of the Big12

Losing to a now 5-5 Nebraska team has zero weighting on where we are currently ranked. It was a loss. Nobody would be sitting there saying, “yeah, but at least they lost to a 7-3 Nebraska team”
Agreed that we are in control and we just need to win out, but if it comes down to Boise State and us for the 4th spot, that is the only reason I mention it.
We have to win the Big 12 to make the playoffs. We're not getting in over a 3-loss SEC team. Full stop.
So even if I grant your premise, then I'd be rooting for Nebraska for some irrelevant computer number bump. Not gonna happen.

What is the funniest and best outcome? Buffs in the playoffs, nubs without a bowl. We don't need their ****in help to do that. So the choice is easy. **** um
I thought the P4 conference winners were guaranteed the top 4 seeds. I don’t think Boise, Notre Dame, Army, etc. has a chance to receive a bye.

If Boise is ahead of us, they can get a higher seed
Which makes it a bummer that BYU lost to Kansas. We wanted them at the highest possible ranking before we beat them in the ccg. We need to jump Boise somehow, otherwise our best if we win out is likely #12 and a road game first round.
Of course we need to win out (Kansas is scary), and perhaps cheer for CSU to beat Boise in their ccg.

Yes indeed. Buffs playing in the post season, hopefully the playoffs but either way, playing. Nubs staying home would be glorious and icing on the cake. We can have our cake and eat it to. Win out, Nubs at home. Happy ending

I’d be very curious to know when the last time prior to this season we had a greater than 80% FPI chance to beat a power 4/5 team. I’d be willing to bet 20+ years. Maybe we had one in 2016?
Tiebreakers are not in our favor, but if we win and say Houston beats BYU, we have a chance, but feels like we have many of the worst tiebreaking factors

Since Utah couldn’t hold on, CU now needs to win and two of BYU, ISU and ASU to lose.
I’ve already mentioned this in other threads.
We need to win. And:
If just BYU loses we are in. If BYU wins, then we need ISU and ASU to both lose.
Who do we have the tiebreaker over?
We have no tiebreakers over any of the other 3, so just BYU still gives it to ISU and ASU?
