2024 Colorado Haters Thread

I think most of the hype is coming from current and former pros. When they're on tv in the booth or on a studio show or they're on their social or doing an interview - people rightfully listen when they say that Travis is doing something that no one has ever done and almost no one could have done. That's a standard that blows out of the water a really great season of stats similar to many other seasons that players have had.
I’ve made this point about former players and I think it’s a nuance that is never addressed by the Jeanty Jizzmopper crew of bots on socials.

The biggest reason why football players don’t play substantial snaps both ways at top level football teams in the pros or college is the need for recovery. Active snaps sap a ton of physical and emotional energy. When players come off, that’s their time to decompress a bit and gear up for another round.

Hunter does not have this luxury, so when he plays at an elite level on both sides of the ball, it is astounding. It is so astounding that all-time greats see it and marvel at Travis’ ability to do it nearly every week. These are people that have conquered the highest mountains and respect that Travis is doing something that nobody has done before.

Guys in their basement who have an agenda and biases refuse to acknowledge this fact. They have a guy who represents their concept of a “good” Black athlete as well as their concept of a “bad” Black athlete. It’s just another culture war.

I played both ways in high school. In college, it would have been impossible. Guys had so much more expertise at their positions and with only playing on one side they played a lot harder every snap without taking plays off. I'm blown away that he can do it and dominate the other team's CB1 and WR1 every single week. Unicorn.

To your last paragraph, I don't understand how anyone wouldn't love Travis. One of those rare people who have that light about them and approach everything with passion and joy. Whether it's what he does on the field or being a 4.0 student, the guy seems to always be having fun while working harder than everyone else. He's also got that big smile like Julia Roberts that lights up a room. TLDR of this: someone would have to be a lot meaner and dumber than the average racist to dislike Travis.

His second father is Prime. When Hunter hitched his wagon to Prime, that’s when the hate began to flow.

They are not going to sully the Heisman trophy with a Boise State player who plowed through a bad MWC this season.

Around 55 minutes mark if you want to hear some drunk BSU dudes (including Kent Riddle) rant about the heisman

So when another RB comes around in a season or three and puts up better stats than Jeanty (because it happens) will this argument die?! Point being - there WILL NEVER be another player like Travis Hunter. Not one like him before, and it’ll be years before another player is up for playing both ways every series. Some aspects of the game don’t show up on sTaTs like QB’s and OC’s knowing better than to throw at or near Travis Hunter.

However Travis will be utilized in the NFL is an absolute non-factor for the Heisman race.

The online Boise fans are so annoying. I get that they want to support their Heisman candidate, but a lot of the comments regarding that subject drift well into the Hate Zone against Travis and Deion.

Wait until Saturday night.

Never been to Idaho. My Wife’s cousin and her fam live there. Never see much in the way of socio/political from her. I know that she is left leaning like most of her siblings are. She is a nurse, and her husband is a high level engineer in metallurgy(?) he graduated from Mines… Hearing more and more of Idaho types, I can imagine why mum’s the word…

Members of the University of Utah women's team told police someone in a truck displaying a confederate flag yelled racial slurs and revved the engine in a menacing way as players and staff walked to dinner last Thursday. They say that same truck and a second were waiting as the team returned from dinner and followed them back to their hotel.

I was thoroughly unsurprised by this story in March.

I'm enjoying the hate. It has given me new perspective.

Before the season it was that CU wouldn't win more than 4-5 games, that NDSU would beat them. Prime would leave. Travis would get hurt.

Now they are 9-3 and the criticism of the Heisman winner is that he was 'only' top 3 player at two positions. That CU's schedule was so easy that Hunter could pad his stats. That Hunter could not be on the team and CU would win just as many as games compared to Jeanty's impact at Boise. That S2 is only a starting QB because his dad.

For me - outside of politics - it has never been a more obvious case study in how dumb all of us humans are. People who have never even heard of Nick Nash are now saying how he should have won Biletnikoff. People who are just angry claim Hunter can't be the best defensive player because he doesn't have enough tackles and sacks.

We are an immensely stupid species

What is this sudden concern with how well Boise would do without Jeanty, as if it was an MVP award? It's not. It's the best player in college football. Rashaan won in 1994 on a team of ****ing superstars. He single-handedly won us the Texas game that year, but I'm not sure you could say with any certainty that we lose any other game without him. It doesn't mean that he wasn't the best player in the country that year, because he was.
