2025 NCAA Tournament Games Thread

BTW, guy I work with has a kid at GCU. For $28 the school provided them with a flight, tickets and (if they win today) hotel until the next game.

I didn’t realize ADs could support student sections.
I recall the Athletic Department sending 75 or so members of the C Unit to the PAC XII championship in Vegas. I think that was back in the Mike Bohn days.

So, your take is that the more talented and better coached team only beats an opponent that's missing its best player and ice cold from 3... by 8 points?
It's conjecture to say what would have happened if Tyrese Hunter had been available. The fact is he was not, and CSU's point guard and shooting guards dominated today. On the other hand, I guess if CSU would have lost, they could have cried foul about NIL like Tad Boyle.

I saw posted on a Reddit thread that CSU has the chance to be the first team from the state of Colorado represented in the Sweet 16 since the tourney was expanded to 64 teams. How is this possible?! CU has never made the S16 in that time span?! I guess I just kinda assumed it has happened at least once during the Tad era, maybe back with Chauncey or something, idk. Another post says that the only other power conference teams without a S16 appearance are SMU, TCU, Rutgers, UCF, Nebraska, and Northwestern. That is some really undesirable company to be in. CU needs to **** or get off the pot when it comes to basketball; this is sad Ralphie. Go Buffs
We have gotten to an extent spoiled, Tad has done a lot with the resources available to him and more often than not under him we have been at least competitive.

Prior to Tad that was absolutely not the case.

There were some brief burst of success, most notably when Chauncey turned down all the blue bloods and came to Boulder but there was a long time there when a successful season wasn't being last in the Big 8 standings at the end of the year. Usually we were fighting Iowa State, Okie State and the corn to stay out of the cellar.

At the advice of someone on a DNVR podcast last year, I bet on all of the underdogs in the first round. Except for the 1/16 games. $1 a game cause I'm a ****ty gambler and don't want to lose too much if this goes badly. Just want to see if this actually works.

I would choose to do this during one of the most boring first rounds ever.

I was high on Maryland all year, but I didn't love how they looked in the B1GT. So I didn't advance them much in my bracket. Kind of feeling like they would have been a good one to take a flyer on for the Final Four.

Yeah, same. Based on their B1GT, I had them bounced in round 1. That just wrecked my bracked. That along with picking Georigia and UNC to win.

This was a bad year for it. I've done it the last couple and profited. This year sucked

No upsets past a 12 seed, and a 12 seed(CSU) and a 10 seed were favored. 1 upset from the 13-15 seeds and it would have been break even or in the black. Oh well.

I'm surprised. I didn't pick a lot of 1st round Cinderellas, but I would not have thought all of the 1-4 seeds would make the Round of 32. Has that ever happened?

Idk, I've seen about one good game, that's it. We'll see what happens with H-Town and Gonzaga. Oh and I gave up on my brackets, they are way fvcked up. :D

I'm excited for Arkansas vs St. John's.

Calipari and Pitino bringing very capable teams.

Heard a Pitino interview where they were trying to play up their friendship as a distraction. Pitino said something like, "We're both Italian and love basketball, but that's about all we have in common." :ROFLMAO: They're friends, but are hyper competitive and have had a bit of a rivalry for a long time. They'll be animated today. Should be fun.

Yep, hopefully that's a good one.
