2025 Spring Football

They will both play, probably a lot
Salter looks a bit slight. Running will get you hurt
JuJu isn't going to run from competition and Prime isn't the kind of coach to just promise a starting job to get a commit.

JuJu came to compete as did Salter. Even if Salter is the starter out of spring practice, even if he is the starter at the start of the season that isn't a guarantee that he will be the starter all season.

It wouldn't shock me if JuJu wins the job in season. If he doesn't he will still play significant time and there won't be a question that he is the future of the position.

I like the idea of a senior QB over the course of a long tough year, if it’s at all close.

That’s the way I would assess the competition: JuJu really has to show he’s that super rare true freshman QB that can win right off the bat. He may be that, but he’s also about as young as a freshman QB can possibly be.
Both will play

He also has been trained by the best since he was young, was a 4 year starter at perennial power in Georgia's highest classification and was the Gatorade national player of the year. We need to stop acting like he's some in-state rando who put up decent numbers against the ragtag, undersized, undercoached, weak sauce competition we have in Colorado.

3 year starter, unless he goes back for another ;)

But can JuJu sing the frat hymn? What is his favorite flavor of Totino's frozen pizza.

JuJu is elite, completely other level but sad thing is that Montez had talent. Had he dedicated himself to it and been serious Montez had a real shot at being at least a backup QB in the NFL, maybe more. As it was his raw talent got him invited to a couple of training camps. He got a couple of years on practice squads and even a few games on active rosters.
You can't dedicate yourself to growing brain cells.

I don’t understand all the posters that think salter would stick around for his last year of ball if he was not going to be the full time starter aside from maybe a drive here and there for JuJu
thank you. I was feeling really weird about not being worried about something when it came to the quarterback situation.

I’m not worried about it per se. if JuJu beats him out then that is an incredibly impressive feat, 5 star or not. If Salter wins we have one of the best dual threat QBs in the country. There is no downside imo
Sorry, didn't mean that to sound snarky. Just enjoying this amazing QB situation we have compared to the past. I agree with all your points.

Perfect situation for both
Salter wants to prove he can gbe next level.
Juju needs to develop and not put excessive wear and tear on himself.
4 guest appearances this year as a backup and then 2 years and out has got to be their base level case.

There will be zero concern about saving JuJu's redshirt year. Even if he doesn't start they will get him time in various games.

The chances of JuJu being in Boulder 5 years or even 4 years is close to zero, it will only happen is something strange like injuries happen.

This year he learns the system and adjust to college football. The next two years he starts and then is eligible for the NFL draft. He might stay one more year depending on how the draft sets up but he will be disapointed if that happens.

If JuJu is the man, then we get three years out of him because he'll be gone to the NFL if he lives up to that five star billing.

Going with Salter is simply going with the safe option in case JuJu isn't ready and he's one that was supposed to be a HS senior this fall. Love the idea that JuJu isn't afraid of the challenge though.

Prime will make it a competition into the fall, then name JUJU THE starter with Salter a situational QB. Mark my words!!!

Salter was ranked the #7 qb in the country coming out of high school - only 1 spot below Juju Lewis on the 247 composite.

I think folks are too low on Salter. Folks were calling him a high level NFL draft pick after the 2023 season, and I saw NFL draft scouts compare him to DeShaun Watson. I wrote a post about him and was really surprised to learn how highly recruited he was, and I forgot that he got kicked out of Tennessee.
