On4Why are you just making up valuations of transfers? A proven stud transfer on the OL is going to cost far more than $400k.
I imagine someone like Benson and Mayers cost CU $400k this year.

Not really. Seaton was the #1 OL recruit in the country, and CU paid him $700,000. The price of business this year is a little higher, but not dramatically so.Why are you just making up valuations of transfers? A proven stud transfer on the OL is going to cost far more than $400k.

And as I said a proven stud P5 transfer OL is going to cost more than that. Not really. Seaton was the #1 OL recruit in the country, and CU paid him $700,000. The price of business this year is a little higher, but not dramatically so.
Not is he is going to play the money game and exceed a certain budget point, gotta stick to a budget and are we going to have a line that has 3 freshman and 2 sophomores?
I don't know that it will work out like that. We have some guys we brought in this year in the portal who will almost certainly figure. If they are elite freshman and Sophomores, yes. If we had an OL full of Jordan Seaton’s this year, we’d be elite
Until Phil dies, I'm saying Oregon is the richest.Bidding war against the richest team in college football.
Multiply that by 3 and you're closer to what Season got from usNot really. Seaton was the #1 OL recruit in the country, and CU paid him $700,000. The price of business this year is a little higher, but not dramatically so.
Phil will continue to fund them after he leaves this earth.Until Phil dies, I'm saying Oregon is the richest.
Take $20 Million and spend it on a roster of 80 guys and tell me how even your IOL are worth more than $400k to $500k maxWhy are you just making up valuations of transfers? A proven stud transfer on the OL is going to cost far more than $400k.

Yes, but that's different than having the billionaire fan personally saying his team is absolutely not losing a coach or player over money.Phil will continue to fund them after he leaves this earth.
Because 80 guys aren’t getting paidTake $20 Million and spend it on a roster of 80 guys and tell me how even your IOL are worth more than $400k to $500k max
Not every player on the roster is getting paid. If they are, some are getting scraps.Take $20 Million and spend it on a roster of 80 guys and tell me how even your IOL are worth more than $400k to $500k max
Everyone is getting something and it spends money way too fastBecause 80 guys aren’t getting paid

Similar to the NFL the distibution on money is far from equal. Very common for an NFL team to have >25% of it's salary cap wrapped up in 3-5 players and the majority of the players within 10% of the league minimums.Everyone is getting something and it spends money way too fast
The NFL has about a $250 Million CAP
Let's give College a $25 Million CAP
So that is easy 1/10th cap number conversion
Average Guard in the NFL Makes about $5 Million, so pay the college equivalent $500k
If the market is just going to go wild, so be it, pay whatever you want, but there will be very good proven transfer Guards that we can get for $500k and likely be very happy with
College isn’t getting collective bargaining anytime soon.Everyone is getting something and it spends money way too fast

Seaton is going to cost way more this season, likely $1.2 MillionSimilar to the NFL the distibution on money is far from equal. Very common for an NFL team to have >25% of it's salary cap wrapped up in 3-5 players and the majority of the players within 10% of the league minimums.
NIL is the same deal. Star QB make much more than a star OG but that star OG makes multiple times more than the backup LB who was a late addition to the recruiting class.
Seaton is already getting more than 1.2 Million.Seaton is going to cost way more this season, likely $1.2 Million
Carde Smith is going to cost $900k or so
Cash will cost a few gift cards (jk)
So, if we are all in, then get more money and pay Big Mike
My point is not that we cannot get him, or that we will not pay whatever Prime wants or needs us to do, but this is a lot of money for so many freshman
It is not my money, so whip it out and spread it around

I have no idea how much our guys are getting paid but there is the direct pay for play $$ from our collective and there is the real NIL $$ Prime has facilitated for these guys. I agree, there is zero chance Seaton came to CU for a full package of $700kSeaton is already getting more than 1.2 Million.
No idea where that 700,000 figure came from.
He's making 3 times that this year.
Even using that math, you're talking about an average guard. Carroll isn't an average guard, he's the #1 OG in the country. Portal is generally more expensive than HS ranks, so you're going to have pay up big money for a comparable transfer talent.Everyone is getting something and it spends money way too fast

Maybe, but that’s what I am being told. Having that, it won’t be cheap. Lots of variation in how OL transfers are compensated, mainly because it’s not been shown a team can build a high quality OL from the transfer portal. What’s going to seriously expensive are DT’s.And as I said a proven stud P5 transfer OL is going to cost more than that.
Amari McNeil is a guy we gotta keep, and I think our DT coaches are a plusMaybe, but that’s what I am being told. Having that, it won’t be cheap. What 3 freshmen are we starting? Not is he is going to play the money game and exceed a certain budget point, gotta stick to a budget and are we going to have a line that has 3 freshman and 2 sophomores?
SO LT Seaton, FR LG Gooden, SO C Cleveland, FR RG Carroll, FR RT SmithWhat 3 freshmen are we starting?
in this fever dream, it's carde smith at RT, chauncey gooden at RG, and carroll at LG. all good and worthy of minutes, but i cannot imagine this staff leaving a frosh QB with that when we have benson, harden (not sure, he's listed as a senior in some spots), owens, kirkland, attiah who have all been here for a year. What 3 freshmen are we starting?
I have a really hard time seeing that. I think Carroll's going to Bama, but he can probably start at guard if he commits here. I see Smith and Gooden being depth pieces year 1.SO LT Seaton, FR LG Gooden, SO C Cleveland, FR RG Carroll, FR RT Smith
