Adams promoted to Co-OC, Chiaverini to call plays

Question is can Adams get into Montez's face and make him play better? I guess this means Chev goes upstairs unless that is the new QB coach to be hired.

Not a fan of the co-coordinator set up but whatever works, I guess. I'm assuming Adams and Chev both get raises with the savings from a new QB coach. Seems like we're spinning our wheels a bit here.

To me, this means it was the only way Adams and Chev were going to stay at CU. Going out to find an established, veteran OC and essentially demote Chev was just not going to happen, and in order to keep Adams happy was to give him the "2017 Chev promotion". Whatever, go out and get a legit QB coach, replace Bernardi with a recruiter and we'll see what happens with Hagan.

This almost screams of MM having no intention of getting rid of Lindgren at all. Lindgren goes for the lateral move and MM got caught with his pants down. But rather than survey the field to find some new blood, he stays in house.
Ugh.

I like it....he’ll want to run the ball. I also think he’s a much better coach than what was displayed by the OL this year

Our O line sucks and we have no RB to replace Lindsay. Which explains why CU will try running the ball 30 times a game next year.

Well, talk about not your best case scenario. Let's hope Chev is an unknown wunderkind at designing and executing a gameplan

Gonna bring my post from the Lindgren thread over here since this is more appropriate.

No ****ing way.

Is this what went through MM and RG's head? "Well Brian's gone so who do you like Mac?" "Well I think the two units that had the most hype and upside before this year and then failed miserably was entirely on the players and the coaches did incredible. I say we give Coach Adams a promotion and now Chev calls the plays!"

Just to get this straight. You have the genuine chance to retool the coaching staff of an offense that's by and large underperformed the last few years, especially last season, because your OC is making a lateral move to a conference rival and you go and immediately promote a guy you've worked with for 7 years from within and don't even entertain the notion of looking outside for some fresh ideas or someone who has proven he can design and lead a creative offense?

I may be in the minority, but this doesn’t seem that bad to me.

Go get a great recruiter for the QB coach.
The big offensive staff shake up consisting of replacing Bernardi with DePrato and finding a new QB coach seems pretty uninspiring.

Adams has coached RBs, TEs, and the OL under HCMM at SJSU and CU. Let's say he has a good understanding of how the running game would work in this case. Maybe that will lead to a better running game.

Lindgren really had to go due to the scoring output under HCMM while at CU which wasn't that good and that change would have occurred at any school if they were next to last in the conference in every season except one magical season.

I believe the new QB coach that CU is going to hire is going to be very telling where the Buffs will go offensively.
