All in One DirecTV Hates Pac-12 Network Thread (Was Larry Scott Thread)

Next person who talks about the free **** they got from DTV is gonna get banned. How about you donate that savings to the AD.

Kidding.

Kinda. :smile2:

I thought it was somewhat decided that those who didn't feel like they could leave DTV would share what they were able to get out of them.

Jealous? Just kidding. Kinda.

If I didn't give to the AD in so many other ways, and despise Comcast (and dislike Dish), then I'd agree with you.

Why doesn't one of you Denver area ****wad's with the PAC 12 network invite us without it over to your house on game days? I'll bring chips and dip.

Adding it to my Dish account, come on over....oh, wait, you said Denver. I read *****wads and assumed....

Getting freebies out of DTV helps, too. If they have give away too much stuff, that impacts their bottom lone, too. Get your free stuff! Milk those bastards for every penny! Ask for stuff you don't even want. Demand free porn for a year. Ok, bad example. Everybody wants free porn. You get the idea, though.

Meh. Not really. The thing with digital distribution is that it doesn't cost DTV anything to give it to you for free, unless you were actually thinking of paying for it and even then it's not as if they have to beam a special signal for just you. They make some of their money with at home customers, but they more than make up for that with bars and companies that depend on it for revenue.

That is one step from a negative rep. Situations can be complicated.
1) Two year contract to break
2) Spent a **** ton of $$ dropping a D-TV dish on my camper - the cost to unwind that to Dish is many thousands of $$ and then I wouldn't get any HD in the transition, either.

Yes - I am pissed that I don't have access to the Pac12 network, but I am absolutely caught by the balls right now.

why not? that seems total reasonable, I'd encourage anyone here whop uses this to bilk DTV out of some money to send that to the AD.

You are not a good gambler are you?

i disagree. DTV has to pay a ton of money to the NFL to have Sunday ticket. If they're having to give it away in order to keep customers, that costs them. Eventually, they'll come to the realization that they'd be better off simply offering the PAC 12 network.

DBT...you are more than welcome at my house. I'll provide the Pac 12 if you provide the rum.

I actually think that we need to be promoting to DTV customers to act like they are Pac 12 fans, even if they aren't, so they can collect the "freebies" and hit DTV that way. The only reason I haven't announced it on my facebook is the whole "is it the truth" and the number of Rotarians I count as friends.

PM us. We're in the Springs but we can easily handle 20 or so people for Saturday football games!

Not asking about college football, I'm asking CU fans.

If CU was a top 10 team, would you dump DTV?

As I said earlier in this thread or another thread, given the current state of our program I'm ok with missing 3 of our games especially when 2 of them are UCA and Oregon. Even if we were a top 10 team I'm sure I'd have to assess the schedule. You miss 2 games where one is home against Cal and the other is at CU. They'll win both of those games by 40+ and that's with letting off the gas in the 2nd half. Even the Nicholls State game is on FS1.

BS.

There's only no shortage of games if you don't follow sports west of Mississippi...

My team is one of the worst among BCS teams yet I'll still get to see 9 out of 12 games living 1500 miles away. I can deal with that no problem. I'll get all the relevant games that USC, Stanford, and Oregon play on DTV, and even then I'm not sure I'll watch them all simply because of all the other games nationally taking place at the same time.

LS and the conference talked big about making the Pac-12 a national conference and even did a promotional tour in NYC, yet they still haven't gotten their network onto the nation's largest TV provider and continue to schedule football games at 10pm EST or later. Fail.

Re: Larry Scott: No DirecTV for Pac12Network this year

You don't seem to care, but you'll miss more than three games.

Totally fail to see how it's Scotts fault for thinking PAC fans would demand their provider carry the network like they do the B1G. And just to point it out one more time, the PAC 12 network launched with tremendous carriage. DirecTV has dug in and proven to Scott PAC fans don't care.

I wouldn't necessarily say we will miss them, we just can't see them.

Remind me to bring this up when we see you guys Thursday. I can bring a killer Buffalo chicken dip and even leave the kids home. lol Only for select 'Can't miss' games. Not sure we have those this year on the road..unless we get close to 6 wins, then have to watch very one to see if we make it.

I might get dish or Comcast on the main tv area....hook it up for games..and then go back to Dtv otherwise. Only have it on 7 months a year or so. Not cheap, but wife won't go dish or Comcast, she loves Dtv, and I would think two tv services are cheaper than a divorce. lol

Comcast internet isn't going to give you access, you have to have a Comcast cable package.

Perusing through this thread for answers, can anyone else confirm this?

I'm looking to get internet only service and was hoping I could still get the Pac12 network on my laptop. Or does this only work if I get a particular xfinity package? TIA

Yes. I've always had comcast internet and there's no online TV access unless you have cable. Then, you must have the channel on cable for it to be available for you to stream online on comcast.

For those willing to live without the football games because the team isn't very good...what about all the basketball games for what could be quite possibly our greatest season of the modern era?

I've had Dish for years and been very happy with them. I get plenty of NFL games without paying a bunch of money for Sunday Ticket. The few times I have had any issues their customer service has been.

For any of you who are considering making the change to Dish PM me (or one of the other dish customers here) and I can give you a referal code that will save each of us a bunch of money.
