We would be trappedI hate this. I don’t know exactly why I hate this, but I’m certain I do, in fact, hate this.
I don't treat George Kliavkoff, Larry Scott, and the university presidents in the former Pac 12 with respect either.I’ll treat you with respect because you’re cool and the way the world works you’ll probably end up owning the company I work for someday.
I will not treat the people that cause us to play in the Allstate 12 Conference with respect.
THERES NOT EVEN TWELVE ****ING TEAMS YOU DIPSHITS
$30-50m total works out to a max of $3.125m per. I'm not doing something this silly for that little money. We would be trapped
We are the biggest brand now in the Big allstate buckys 12
This is dumb, and will likely lose us Prime
Everyone else besides CU, KU, and Utah should love it.
We have the wealthiest African American in Denver and he is supporting Prime and the program.
There is a better and more creative deal to be had for us and we are more likely a P2 candidate
Of course you somehow found a way to rope the Blew in this discussion.the biggest question is how would this move help to narrow the gap between the b12 and the sec/b10. both now and in the next round...
it is probably a good move from the standpoint of the b12 but i am far less sure about it for CU.
the price of the money is going to be quite high and very restrictive.
a "good" example of PE helping in sports is guggenheim partners buying the Dodgers. basically, it allowed them to take a longer term view because cash reserves are no longer an issue. you can make 1.4B in contract bets in a single off season. i am a bit skeptical that a similar benefit accrues to the b12. how do they make the cash infusion work to build value?
what a ****ing world.
a reference to the model franchise in all pro sports for the modern economic circumstances? why yes of course i did.Of course you somehow found a way to rope the Blew in this discussion.
Can you help clarify your post, you are for or against PE?$30-50m total works out to a max of $3.125m per. I'm not doing something this silly for that little money.
Do the private equity thing and call it a day.
I hate this. I don’t know exactly why I hate this, but I’m certain I do, in fact, hate this.
If they need money (and they don’t), Just take out a loan. There is zero need for the p2 to do anything with PE.They didn't "need" to add OU/ UT/ USC/ UO etc. either. They were already making great money. If there's a lot of cash to be made in favorable terms to them, they'd absolutely explore it.
Model franchise? You have one title in my lifetime if I'm not mistaken.a reference to the model franchise in all pro sports for the modern economic circumstances? why yes of course i did.
suck it rangers fan.
Whenever I told my mother I hated something, she told me that something hated me more. So take it in stride since that thing hates you more.
No, I’m sure there are people that hate him.
Need a team of folks like Bloom and SMAC to save us. Shoot, I would love to have Wilhite in on this stuffIf RG got ritually pantsed by mere agents of prospective HC's, I shudder to think what the flesh eating sharks of PE would do. I think Conference Commissioners might fare only a little better in that game.
Explain how Conferences are helpful these days?I don't have an issue with conference naming rights as a new revenue stream. I think it's smart.
Could get interesting with conflicts, though. What happens if United Airlines paid CU for naming rights to the Keg and Delta sponsored the conference & put its logo on the court?
I’ll say it again. He’s needs a seasoned CFO.If RG got ritually pantsed by mere agents of prospective HC's, I shudder to think what the flesh eating sharks of PE would do. I think Conference Commissioners might fare only a little better in that game.
I think NASCAR has models for that. I definitely remember a Budweiser car running in the Busch Series (now Xfinity Series), Jeff Gordon drove a Pepsi sponsored car in the Coca Cola 600, races sponsored by GM have Ford's and Toyotas in the lineup (and sometimes in the winner's circle), etc......

Agree that this isn't a new or unique problem.I think NASCAR has models for that. But, um, Budweiser and Busch are brands from the same company.
Rick George will not be approving or deciding anything on this. From RG's perspective, a short-term budget windfall followed by long-term budget tightening is an absolute bonanza of a great deal during his window of employment and responsibility.
I'm struggling to find serious flaw with this....
My pitch deck is: what drives eye balls? Winning and dominating. How do you get there quickly? Spend $1B 100% on player acquisition, and do it quickly. Dominate them redo your media rights.
