Bowl Games (other than ours) and associated silliness 2024 Plus the Playoffs

Still thinking about what I saw from the OU team today and I wouldn't be surprised if you see another 10-12 players hit the portal.
That was my thought, who else can be poached off this sinking ship?

I have a client who is a huge OU booster and he thought they were golden 2 years ago.
They suddenly look like they are on track to become like their neighbors to the North in Lincoln have become.

What the absolute **** is the halftime jackass talking about the Alamo Bowl possibly being Deion’s last game? Please, make up more nonsense you 3rd rate ****.
Joey Galloway.

Good lord ESPN's CFB coverage sucks outside of Fowler. Something fun about watching games like the whatever-the-**** bowl with the sound off so you don't lose brain cells listening to people like him.

He probably figured saying something like that would get some sort of minor engagement boost. ESPN in this new era just sucks. Nothing but engagement bait and pumping the in house conference brands.

This is playing out just exactly as it did for them going from the Big 8 to the Big 12. After a rough patch or two, they went on to win the Big 12 many times over. They won't meet the same fate as the Huskers because they still have their recruiting base next door in Texas.

Why are bowl games between non-rivals often so chippy?
I think with ESPN’s recent antics the rest of CFB may have finally come to the conclusion it’s everybody vs the SEC. Everyone desperately wants to see them lose, even if it’s just Vandy.

You think these guys playing for ACC and B12 schools don’t hear how the pundits are talking about them?

GT gonna be pissed off come 1st game next year
Excuse Me Reaction GIF by One Chicago

If you think players carry anything over to a totally different opponent 8 months later, you're goofy.

Venables cant keep players from transferring. Unless he figures that part out, Texas recruiting doesn't matter.

They're a Big 12 TV partner. We'll have played on their airwaves 5 times-North Dakota State, KSU, Cincinnati, OSU, and tomorrow.

And yet you have Desmond Howard saying stuff like “why are we picking this ASU game” on Gameday like 3 weeks before they win the B12 and mixing up the ASU and Arizona logos. ESPN views the B12 as bulk content primarily useful for filling their night windows and name dropping Prime on their argument outrage shows and web content to drive engagement. You’re kidding yourself if you think they treat their “parrners” equally.

Yormak had to call them out on the ASU comment and the previous B12 commissioner out right accused them of collusion with the SEC to destroy the B12.
