They are under no obligation to take the highest rated CFP team. It was the entire reason the playoff took so long to come together, was because they wanted more choice in who they could pick in that scenario.Rose will take highest rated in CFP ratings. We have to win both if we are to make rose bowl or they will pick USC.
Alamo? Not overly appealing IMORose Bowl or Alamo are stone cold locks. either way I'm there
Still a great bowl gamemy Rose wo7ld be amazingAlamo? Not overly appealing IMO
Brave of you.I plan on attending any bowl game, including the Peach (if I have to).
Do you really believe that's a fair representation of the argument?
Well as long as it's an informed opinion.Of any individual's entire argument? I don't know because I haven't and won't read the entirety of a 20 page thread dedicated to this exceedingly stupid debate. But it is a fair representation of certain posts. At least two mentioned the parade as the driving factor in preferring the Rose to the CFP.
Who would have thought any ABer would have said this back in August?Alamo? Not overly appealing IMO
You realized that repeated arguments are kind of an AllBuffs tradition right? This thread has me very worried about the future of allbuffs.
Any year that the Rose Bowl is a legitimate possibility late in the season, the playoff will also be a possibility.
Which means we're going to see this exact same argument repeated almost annually.
My favorite takes in this thread are from the fans who prefer the Rose Bowl to the CFP based on a parade.
Or if Washington is somehow left out of the Playoff.Seems like we are pretty much locked into the rose or cotton bowl. Only way for Alamo bowl is if we get destroyed by Washington then we will drop 4-5 spots.

The Rose vs Penn State would be a dream scenario. We could win that one. Wisconsin seems like a more difficult matchup imo
I would take the Cotton versus Alamo.Nothing wrong with playing a bowl game deep in the heart of Texas in a year where both Texas, LSU, and maybe Aggie change coaches.......
I would take the Cotton versus Alamo.
Of course we want more, but the Alamo Bowl/ San Antonio is actually a lot of fun.Alamo? Not overly appealing IMO
Thank you for saving me the time of looking that up myself.2014:
Arizona dropped from 7 to 10 after getting destroyed by Oregon.
Kansas state dropped from 9 to 11after losing to Baylor by 11 (not a championship game though so a little different)
Georgia tech dropped one spot after losing to FSU.
Wisconsin droppped from 13 to 18 but they were destroyed and didn't score a point against Ohio state.
Missouri remained the same after losing to bama.
2015:
Iowa dropped one spot after losing to michigan state.
North Carolina stayed at 10 after losing to Clemson.
Baylor dropoed from 12 to 17 but this wasn't a championship game either.
Florida dropped a spot after losing to bama.
Yes, the CFP isn't going to punish the Buffs so long as we look like we belong2014:

Atlanta has something the Rose Bowl doesn't. A chance at the National Championship. So this year, the Rose Bowl isn't the grand daddy of them all and is a stupid thing to hope for over the CFP.A parade of 40,000 Buffs fans filling the Rose Bowl on a picture perfect New Years Day.
With friends and family members of the team driving to the Grand Daddy Of Them All.
If you think Atlanta is better, for whatever reason, then good for you.
Sigh...Atlanta has something the Rose Bowl doesn't. A chance at the National Championship. So this year, the Rose Bowl isn't the grand daddy of them all and is a stupid thing to hope for over the CFP.
I kind of get the committee liking Wisconsin, 1 TD losses to OSU and UM and beat LSU. Penn St with their blowout loss to UM and loss to Pitt is baffling as a top 10 team. The rest of the B1G is completely meh to really bad.In a cruel twist of fate, I think we'd actually have a tougher matchup if we get into the Alamo Bowl (OU or Okie State) than if we make the Rose Bowl (B1G).
