Bowl projections

Because CU is not in the Pac-12 they are in the Big-12.
Pac-12 bowl tie-in contracts were not dissolved until after 2024. So those games get their picks of CU, Cal, USC, UDub and Wazzu (or Oregon or ASU) since we're bowl eligible and if we don't make the CFP.

I am confused that someone would not only sign up for a message board for a school but also pay for the member section, then say they wouldn’t be interested in watching said school compete in a postseason game. Especially when it will only be the third time in the last 20 years.

Also blowouts are “boring”? I had a fantastic time watching us demolish Okie State because it’s been a long time since we’ve seen that.
Yeah...when my team is playing, I don't give two ****s if it's a good game

I'd be extremely happy with a 16-0 season, where we win every game 55-0

So much this ^^^

Because CU is not in the Pac-12 they are in the Big-12.
For purposes of bowl selection they are.

And so is Oregon, but it doesn't matter for the Ducks because of playoffs.

EDIT: It looks like others 'splained it already.

I'm aware. The question was why would they take WSU and CU? Because they can. Because both progams are affiliated. CU is not in the Pac-12 anymore. The Big-12 is perhaps the conference the most associated with the Alamo bowl, no? The Pac picked it up a decade or whatever ago. So there are two affiliated teams in different conferences that historically represent the teams in the bowl game. I dunno why this is confusing. It makes plain sense.

They can’t

You may be aware, but you are not getting it.

No. They have to pick one Big 12 less the 4 who just joined, and one former Pac 12 team that aren’t in the playoff. The teams get paid and each conference gets paid

Where does it say that?
For the final two years of its current bowl agreement, the Valero Alamo Bowl will have the first choice of bowl eligible teams from each of the following two 12-team pools after the College Football Playoff field is selected:

Big 12 Conference Pool – Baylor, BYU, UCF, Cincinnati, Houston, Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas State, Oklahoma State, TCU, Texas Tech, and West Virginia.
Pac-12/former Pac-12 Pool – Arizona, Arizona State, California, Colorado, Oregon, Oregon State, Stanford, UCLA, USC, Utah, Washington, and Washington State.

So they can play in the Alamo bowl, just like they could in the Big-12. I don't get why this is hard.
You seem to be the one who is having difficulty with it. If they play in the Alamo Bowl, they will play a non PAC 12 team. For instance, if ISU beats ASU in the CCG, ASU and CU won’t be going to the Alamo Bowl.
