Bowl projections

Not trying to be obtuse here, but I thought CU (or any in the same situation) could be selected as a Pac-12 or Big-12 team, but couldn’t be matched with another P-12 to B-12 team (ergo, CU couldn’t face Utah, Arizona, or ASU) but could face another B-12 team OR represent as B-12 team v another former P-12 team (ergo USC, UCLA, UDub, Cal, Stanford).
But from reading all this, looks like I’m incorrect.

No. We are a PAC-12 team for a bowl (Alamo bowl at least)

So, I I read that right, we need ASU to win the CCG for us to go to San Antonio. If ISU wins, we end up in San Diego.
Not sure about the San Diego part (as I have seen us projected to go to Vegas) but if ASU wins the Big 12 and (presumably) goes to the playoff 1/2 possible choices for the P12 legacy slot is unavailable, so yes, it stands to reason that we're going to San Antonio in that case.

Don't think this is right at all. I'm pretty sure we're a lock for San Antonio and this release is just to try and create hype/excitement over Sunday's announcement. If ASU wins, they go to the playoff and clearly it would be us. If they lose, then why would the Alamo Bowl choose them over Colorado? Colorado brings wayyyyyyyyyy more money in and we'd likely be ranked right next to ASU.

Depends on how you read it and if you want to go to San Antonio or not
Nobody actually wants to go to San Antonio.

Can you imagine a scenario in which the Alamo Bowl would invite ASU before CU if they were both available (keeping in mind ASU would have another loss)?

I think it boils down to this: the AB might want the highest-ranked team avail from each pool, regardless of name/school/branding, to set up the "best matchup". ASU could, even with a loss, finish higher than us in the CFP rankings. I don't know that I really buy that, but I'm willing to grasp that straw!

I love how there was a quote posted that supposedly came directly from Alamo Bowl officials and then 20 posts disputing those two as the only remaining potential matchups.
