Wait. Did you actually book that?

Dozens of people will be in the stands
I think quite a few Rammie fans will come down here for the cheap tickets, warm weather, and the opportunity to get out of Colorado for a few days. Good seats aplenty for under $45.00. A garbage bowl no doubt.

I had Tucson to San Antone flight tix and hotels researched 2 weeks ago just in case there was a possibly great game looming but BYU is terribly overrated. I will enjoy the Buff beatdown in the comfort of my home office here eating local tamales....BTW, congrats to the CU brain trust for overperforming the experts' predictions this year. Shedeur and CP were the real deal in 2024. Go Buffs!

Hmm, I should check flights out of Omaha. Misses out on my CO vacation this year due to a car wreck 48 hrs before we left, as the cherry on top of a series of unfortunate events this year. Probably a no go since my wife has rotator cuff surgery on 12/26.

I guess I better push for tickets to see Oasis in Chicago next August (if that doesn’t blow up before then…😂). I’m better off not planning for anything for the rest of 2024…

Sounds like Marshall has notified the Independence Bowl and Army that they are pulling out of the game due to lack of players and player safety concerns.

Welcome to the new reality of college football.

Maybe they finally realized the game is in Bumb **** Shreveport.....
I think having 25 players going into the portal plus their Head Coach leaving for Southern Miss 24 hours after winning the SBC conference championship game played an even bigger part in pulling out of the bowl game.

regarding tamales… the last time I was in Tucson, I has some amazing Mexican food at a hole in wall place close to the U of A campus. I believe the name was
La Indita. You familiar and if so, do you know if it’s still operating ?

Officials are working to determine a replacement for Marshall through a ranking of NCAA APR scores of teams that finished the 2024 season with a 5-7 record.

5-7 Air Force as a rematch would be simultaneously the best and worst outcome here

I hate the independence bowl. I got escorted out by 4 Louisiana state troopers in the 4th quarter of the 2007 game. ( I snuck back in and sat in different seats).
Some ginormous Boss Hog Louisiana somebody wanted me to sit down while we were trying make our comeback. I told him to stand up if you want to see, I’m not sitting down.
5 minutes later, I get a tap on the shoulder and turn around to the Louisiana state police.
I was so pissed!

La Tech was ranked 16th out of 17 potential APR replacements
I saw that, and it has to be that the other 15 teams said no thanks.

I think the top 3 were Cincy, Air Force, and Wisconsin.

I'm sure a lot of teams already shut completely down, and the payout might not even offset the cost to travel to the game. Plus the non-financial "payoff" of "getting" to go to Shreveport adds zero value.

I think most of the bowl games are going to die out if they don't start attaching a meaningful payout for the players.

A lot of parallels to the big CBB programs taking about moving away from the tournaments like Maui and going towards events like that Players Era thing in Vegas.
