Build Rick George a Statue (was #fireRickGeorge)

Of course he isn’t going to shelf the sound system to fire Dorrell. But he should. I mentioned it a couple weeks ago, but they absolutely DO have the money to clean house in the coaching staff, but they would have to prioritize that over bathrooms and sound systems, something that I think is a no brainer but apparently others think it’s better to ride out another 2 seasons of ****ty football and poor recruiting.
They do? Says who?

Are they doing bathrooms now too or just the sound? Doubt the sound alone costs anywhere near that much.
The plan over the next few years has been said to be sound system, bathrooms and balch renovations. They’re either taking loans or they have the money saved for it.

You're making **** up. Nowhere did anyone say the CC was a waste of money. That's absurd.
For what CU paid to build the Champions Center, we could have instead had a $10M a year head coach budget for 15+ years. By your logic, that would have been a much better investment, no?

Has it worked as a recruiting tool? The results on the field suggest no.
Hard to quantify. It’s pretty much the only positive thing any recruit says about their visit here. Of the good recruits who have signed here, which of them wouldn’t have if the CC was never built?

No but I know people who prefer to watch on tv because the gameday experience at Folsom isn’t great - you can’t hear the referee calls, the music is awful, the bathrooms are like a prison, food and drink lines are long, the WiFi sucks. That stuff matters to people, especially wives, kids, and casual fans whose dollars this program would love to see spent on the program. Diehards don’t care about the sound system, but we need more than diehard fan dollars.
LOL the WIFI was upgraded previous to the COVID season. You didn't notice all those grey/white ugly ass boxes placed all over Folsom? Clearly that was worth the $100k RG pissed away on it...works so well the fans have no idea it was installed...

I'd dare ya to dream up a story of mismanagement as sad as this RG saga is.

I actually think the WiFi in the stadium worked very well during the Arizona game, which was packed AF

Again, making **** up. The CC is a necessary football facility. Speakers are not. Stop with this ****.

You and Sink make Folsom sound awful and it’s definitely not.
This you?
I’d have to hear the full scope of plan B to even consider it before substantial Folsom upgrades. Most of Folsom is about 20 years overdue for upgrades.

IMO, Folsom is just old as **** and looks like it. Bringing it into the 21st century should be a priority in the same vein as getting the Champions Center and IPF built. Not as important for recruiting as those, but the stadium looks small time. CU needs the bells and whistles to remain competitive in recruiting and the stadium is part of that.

Had we been able to hire say Mel Tucker or Steve Sarkisian for $6-7m/year and spend the rest on an elite staff and recruiting infrastructure, uh yeah, they probably could have built a CC, IPF and already completed the Folsom renovations because the product on the field would likely be really good

Fans go to games to watch good football and winning football. The amenities are a nice sidebar
Yes and no. That stops being true as people get older and it becomes a family decision to purchase season tickets and commit all those fall Saturdays to going to football games. At the time when we start having the money to afford to really spend a lot on entertainment, there's a lot about going to CU football games that makes the experience mediocre if you're not a big football fan.

When was that? Before or after it became evident that Karl Dorrell is burning this program down
You ripped Folsom pretty badly and said upgrades should be prioritized just like the CC and IPF and even suggested that stadium improvements are necessary “to remain competitive in recruiting”. But now you’re trying to tell me and Nik that Folsom isn’t bad at all.

If you don’t think a dollar should be spent on anything besides a buyout, fine, but don’t pretend you suddenly don’t think Folsom is overdue for improvements.

Thanks for side stepping my question. I never once said improvements weren’t needed. I said prioritizing them over the coaching staff and product on the field was dumb. I’ve also stated today those were a huge priority when CU was winning 10, 5, 5, 5, and 4 (bowl game) games, and seemingly just needed a little extra to get over the hump. The last 2+ months have changed everything about how I view this program

He is a Buff with skills
1) where has Mr. Bloom demonstrated talent for running a major (college) Athletic Department?
2/3/6) what does this have to do with running a major (college) Athletic Department?
4) where has Mr. Bloom demonstrated his savvy running a major (college)Athletic Department?
5) how does this help Mr. Bloom negotiate contracts?
7) I love them too. That makes me a good AD candidate?
8) what about being a Buff makes him more qualified for this job than an AD with experience?

The main job of the AD is 1a) fundraising and 1b) crushing football coach hires. None of what you’ve written indicates that he has any acumen for doing 1b even if he could possibly do 1a semi-competently.

So you’re saying yes then? The CC and IPF were a waste of money since we didn’t spend that on coaching staff instead?
