I’m not too aware of big time broadcaster salaries, but wouldn’t that probably be a pretty huge decrease for him? I know you’re just saying it would be a good idea (and I agree) but I am curious

MASSIVE decrease. Especially considering what athletic department staffers are paid around the country.
Unless RG is negotiating it. In which case, Klatt may get a huge bump. So maybe...
Oh yeah, I'm guessing Klatt is firmly in the 7 figures just from Fox, not to mention his Podcast and endorsement deals. In no way do I think it would ever happen, but he is one former Buff I wouldn't think twice about hiring in a "front office" kind of role.
Klatt would be great as commissioner of whatever college football becomes. Feels like he has a solid grasp of what the future should look like.
Klatt is a younger, more brash version of Herbstreit without the homerism that Herby had when he first started. Klatt also benefited from being in MiLB for a few years, so he knows that side of the sports business.
I'm confident Klatt would be at Herbie levels or beyond if CU got back to a sustained 2001 level again.

Since I know they won't fire Rick George, I'd settle for Carl following Dorrell out the door.
Herbie lived a few blocks away from my wife's family in Columbus, OH. They basically had to leave pretty abruptly after death threats started piling in after Herbie was critical of The Ohio St in the wake of Tressel's firing.
He also was an on the course reporter in the US Open a couple of years back. I’m not sure if he’s done golf since then.
I remember Herbie talking about that time period. It was about the only time I ever remember him being critical of tOSU, he normally was always very positive of them even when they deserved criticism. If I am not mistaken, they live somewhere in Kentucky now.

What would you guys think of firing LC and bringing back Jashon Sykes in the Assoc AD for Football role + the diversity, alum & NFL relations, player development that LC has or had?

I am biased as I got to know Jashon while he was on the Embree staff, but I think he would be a homerun hire in that role. I have no beef with Sykes in particular and he sounds qualified and it's just an AD role, but
GOD DAMNIT NO MORE IN HOUSE CU CENTRIC HIRES that spawn Embree hires and KD hires and Hagan permanently installed on staff and Chev hires and all of the **** that goes with it
I don't want the next coach to have ever been to the state of Colorado. I now consider it a positive if I find a guy that has never coached west of the Mississippi
I get the general feeling. I generally agree.
I'm not sure you realize that I'm talking about replacing a CU guy for a position that includes connecting the current players with former players, alumni and community relations, etc.
If you're going to hire 1 Buff in the athletic department, this job is probably right behind Cabral's position for where it's almost a job requirement.

No authority, but if the person isn't a valued opinion on current or future football staff then it's not the right person in the job.
