BYU 2025 Game Week - Again, at some ungodly hour on Saturday

They're missing one potential starter in RJ Johnson. I guess potentially two if you include Vickers. Do you know what each injury is and why it would be blamed on the S&C staff? Soft tissue strains/pulls, sure. Bone/ligament issues, no. Kind of a weird crash out from you too
Not a crash, just curiosity. Week over week it seems like we many more on the injured list than our opponents. Also, we have players that were full go throughout August then suddenly out when September hit.

I agree with CP by the way. these lists have nothing to do with anything other than gambling. and, even as degenerate gambler, I would prefer to not have these out there. I mean, ****, all I do is bet my homer teams. seeing this just bums me out. and why do we need to feed info to those that take gambling seriously? how does this help anything?

100%. But as we have all become acutely aware, we are a nation of degenerates.

Seeing Salter as questionable brought it out

1. Prime doesn't mess around with injuries. He doesn't care about the situation, the opponent or the injury, if guys aren't full go he usually doesn't let them play (See one Hunter, Travis throughout his career at JSU and CU).
2. To your second point, I think there are some guys he includes on injury reports who might just be in the dog house'
3. The list looks quite a bit longer when he puts 8 guys on the Probable list and includes Barnes, which obviously isn't an injury.

Point being, injuries suck and they happen regardless of level or program. This injury report is essentially the same as last week with the exception of Price and Taylor being out this week. Swayze is a proven S&C coach and you have guys in the league who still credit him and hang around him to this day.

Pure speculation, but I bet we see a different defensive look this week with an added LB or DL and only 4 DBs in our base set. At least I hope this is what Livingston and Prime do. They (should) know they don't have the horses to consistently stop this style of offense playing 5 DBs. Add to it that they are facing a True Freshman QB and they need to give him a defensive look he hasn't seen on film from CU to this point.

As with Wyoming, load up to stop the run on first down and force them into 2nd and 3rd and medium/long.

I hope this is the plan. mix things up and show them something new if we can manage it. that injury list is freaking grim.

BYU's front 7 is stout. We're better off throwing. Just sayin'.
Sure, I'm not denying that it's stout. But if you think we should just abandon the run, then you must not think this offensive line is any good even though they are grading out well, especially in the pass. I guess I disagree. I also don't think we should abandon 50% of our offense just because they have a solid defensive line. That's weak.

They haven't played anyone
blah, blah, blah.

BYU: 1st scoring defense
CU: 82nd scoring offense

BYU: 17th scoring offense
CU: 66th scoring defense

BYU: 7th rush offense
CU: 121st rush defense

BYU: 2nd rush defense
CU: 89th rush offense

BYU: 7th pass eff defense
CU: 67th pass off

Injury list are highly inconsistent. There are some very general guidelines but every program, every head coach uses them differently.

Some coaches don't want to list guys or to understate their injury level in hoping that the other team prepares for them instead of their back-up. Others, and I think Prime goes more this direction, are going to list everything possible. Let the other team worry about will a guy play or not, what do they do if he doesn't or is limited.

Reality is that by this point in the season virtually every player who has seen significant time has bumps, bruises, strains, etc. that would have most regular people at home on the couch.

I thought we had a pretty good offseason program and a very good training staff. This is fvkking ridiculous.
I was told Prime has become unhappy about how hard the playing surface is. Numerous injuries, and players apparently have cuts on exposed body parts. This may be an another colossal ****-up by RG by exposing the football program's key assets to much higher injury rates than the competition.

I was hoping some of their key players would get raptured this week. I can't believe the internet lied to me. I thought it was a law that all posted content had to be true.

No idea if this is true, but rumor has it that there is some ordinance that wouldn't allow CU to use normal crumb rubber infill (tires). Technology has come a long way, but I am not sure why they didn't just use a sand base infill.

There was a player earlier in the week showing his cuts from the playing surface. If I can find it, I will post it here.

They should shred old wine corks and I would be happy to donate for the cause.

I’m looking forward to the game, but I have a feeling that this is going to go really poorly for CU on Saturday. But on a positive note, the last time I felt this way was the season opener against TCU, which CU won.

we played wyoming, houston and freakn delaware
Why did you exclude Georgia Tech, who is a favorite to be in the ACC Championship Game? Did that game not count against CU's statistical rankings?

Houston's defense is 11th nationally in Points/game, 10th nationally in total yards, 9th nationally in passing yards, and 35th nationally in rushing yards.

Wyoming is #2 in the Mountain West in scoring defense and top 3-5 in the conference in everything else.

I'm just saying that BYU's statistics are greatly skewed at the moment as they've only played in 3 games when most of the country has played 4, and theirs have consisted of a really bad FCS team (Portland State is 0-4 with being outscored 184-23 and has already been shut out twice), a really bad 1-3 Stanford team, and a 2-2 ECU team.

When you've only played 3 games and one of them almost statistically didn't even happen for the opponent (Portland State literally had 51 yards of total offense), the national statistics need to be taken with a massive grain of salt.

You got to be kidding me. I thought this was Prime’s decision. Why did we do this?
