Just thinking back about the game, there's no question that Shurmur is the real goat here. He amazingly had a great game plan to start the game, the offense executed it perfectly, and then he just inexplicably went away from it and the offense returned to the same predictable dreck that we've seen all year. Except for one drive in the 4th quarter.
We're all screaming into the void, because Prime listens to no one but Prime, but Shurmur must go (duh).
The point of the post though is that the team, as currently constructed, should have won the game. Salter has limitations. He's not great. But the team should have won despite those limitations. The defense is not as good as it should be. The defensive backfield is embarrassingly bad, considering the coach we have. But the team should have won despite the DBs being bad. Everything should have been overcomeable, if the OC just did his job.
