What would that be? 8/9?
My (stupid) predictions:
1. Oregon
2. Georgia (gross)
3. Boise (grosser)
4. ASU
5. Texas
6. Notre Dame (7)
7. Penn State (6)
8. Ohio State
9. Tennessee
10. Indiana
11. SMU
12. Clemson
Expanding to 16 as things currently stand would add two more SEC teams (South Carolina and Ole Miss), ACC (Miami), and then one of Clemson, BYU or Missouri depending on what happens next week.
I agree that the ACC and Big 12 need to figure something out. We really needed the ACC to crumble and the top 6 to join the Big 12.
So close to going 12/12That'd be tough with Clemson having 3 losses, so I'm going to say no. I can't imagine the committee would put a 3 loss Clemson in the top 4 over a 1 loss Boise, either, but that's the wild card and will set the precedent for G5 programs moving forward one way or another (which actually means I could totally see Clemson being the 4 seed while Boise gets ****ed and stays at 11 or 12).
The real debate and test will be about SMU vs Alabama for the last spot if the committee follows through with their comments about losing a CCG not negatively impacting that team too severely if they are already part of the playoff field.
1. Oregon
2. Georgia
3. Boise State
4. ASU
5. Texas
6. Penn State
7. ND
8. Ohio State
9. Tennessee
10. Clemson
11. Indiana
12. SMU
It would be more than 12 teams. 16 at least, if not 18-20No. ACC AND Big12 crumble and the top 6 from each form a new conference. Way too much garbage in the Big12.
So close to going 12/12
Also, Georgia cake walking to the Natty
Where are you intent on splitting the pie 20 ways? UCF, Cincinnati, Houston, Wake Forest, heavily dilute value. North Carolina, Iowa, Kansas, Arizona, can be reduced to a single school. It would be more than 12 teams. 16 at least, if not 18-20
Easiest path of the top 4 seeds and it’s not even close. That team won't cake walk to anything.
Easiest path of the top 4 seeds and it’s not even close.
That seeding could be very different from year to year. There will be years where the top 4 seeds are more reflective of the top 4 teams.I am not sure what to make of the auto byes for the 4 conference champions.
On one hand I like rewarding teams for winning their conference and felt that yesterday already lost a lot of importance and that's with the byes. You also avoid a scenario where the 2 byes are just gobbled up by the P2 every year but on the other hand the five and six seeds look like the place to be. Would you rather be Oregon and get the bye but have to deal with OSU/Tennessee in your quarterfinal or PSU that doesn't have the bye but a very manageable path to the semis with games against SMU and Boise, probably the 2 weakest teams in the field?

You’re not reducing based on two schools in the same state. Also, basketball still matters until football breaks away entirely so Duke and Arizona aren’t being left out.Where are you intent on splitting the pie 20 ways? Georgia I'm sure will get to go to Atlanta again.I like that they avoided CCG rematches in the 2nd round and that we're spared a third UGA/UT game unless both make it to the title game.
Yes it’s great to hear Saban talk about everyone doing 9-10 conference games because his SOS argument and talking about Bama playing these tough OOC teams rings hollow when they still have 3 other body bag games, one of which is in late NovemberSaban
Play a 9th game
SEC teams should lose 1-2 ranking spots for those body bag games
Joey is whiny today
Edit: Did Saban read my post???
I'll be pulling hard for my 'Stangs again.
It's always funny when you have experts and analysts who are supposed to stay objective while talking about organisations that made them wealthy beyond their wildest dreams.Yes it’s great to hear Saban talk about everyone doing 9-10 conference games because his SOS argument and talking about Bama playing these tough OOC teams rings hollow when they still have 3 other body bag games, one of which is in late November
