No pressure, but now it’s up to Prime to start winning at the level of the other guys.Per Scott Procter.
the buyouts for 28 and 29 are a bit low IMHO but maybe that's normal ??Prime's Buyout Clause to leave:
$12,000,000, if terminated on or before December 31, 2025;
$10,000,000, if terminated on or before December 31, 2026;
$6,000,000, if terminated on or before December 31, 2027;
$4,000,000, if terminated on or before December 31, 2028;
$3,000,000, if terminated on or before December 31, 2029.
If we can afford to pay him at that level and we give him what he wants with the other stuff I don’t see why the buyout is relevant because I then fail to see why he would want out.Buyout after this year seems kinda low relative to the overall contract value but I could be wrong.
He won’t get to 2028 under the terms of this contract no matter what happens.the buyouts for 28 and 29 are a bit low IMHO but maybe that's normal ??
He's generating money and publicity for the University that justifies it.Per Scott Procter.
Correct. All this contract does is say that if the administration of the University gets stupid over the next few years Prime is guaranteed a bunch of money for the next 5 years.He won’t get to 2028 under the terms of this contract no matter what happens.
We’ve all acknowledged TS as the swingin dick. Your (and others) inability to give RG any credit, while placing all the blame is exhausting.I don’t understand this need by multiple posters to not acknowledge the major role that Saliman played in this? We would have Mendenhall if it weren’t for him.
I think most of us don't have knowledge of the role Saliman played in the hire or extension. We've only read speculation on message boards and what not.I don’t understand this need by multiple posters to not acknowledge the major role that Saliman played in this? We would have Mendenhall if it weren’t for him.
I just saw on the contract that it mentions revisiting things in 2027.He won’t get to 2028 under the terms of this contract no matter what happens.
ExpoundY’all should read the contract. This thing was carefully negotiated. We will win.
What did they say?Beautiful - was strange to hear the Altitude dudes today passively kind of ****ting on it
I think most folks here want Prime for the remainder of his coaching life. However, if he is able to continue to elevate the program over the course of the next two years, at the rate he has the done the past two years, if he is not here in 2027, the program will be in exceptional shape and should be able to bring in a very good coach.Buyout is too low, he will be coaching whatever NFL team drafts S2 next year, too friendly to Coach Prime.
It was just lowkey stuff - but it is always weird to me that the local media doesn't celebrate stuff like this more
So $35m over 5 years. The reason the other coaches have larger buyouts is because they are getting 10 year contracts. Extending Primes out another 5 and doubling that buyout to $70m is on par, but the state of CO doesn’t allow more than 5 year contracts, iirc
Y’all should read the contract. This thing was carefully negotiated. We will win.
