COACH PRIME SIGNS 5 YEAR EXTENSION

Buyout looked light from what I could tell. I would have liked for it to equal his salary each year at a minimum.

It's been about half a day. I've been away. Is everyone still happy or have we found things to stress, complain and freak out over?
I heard @4BienemyTDs is very concerned that it’s just a regular boring contract and we didn’t come up with an innovative public/private partnership or name CP Coach for Life. 🤷🏽‍♂️

Investing in Prime, investing in the stadium, investing in the overall Colorado program is the best investment CU can make at all levels. Prime can now focus on winning the Big12 while we are still in the Big12, and we need to tell the B1G that we are ready for an invite. Not happy to hear that everyone thinks that North Carolina, Virginia, or others would be anywhere to as good a selection for the B1G. Colorado's resume now at this point is as good as anyone not except Notre Dame, period.
North Carolina is the prize, like it or not.

I worry that with such a puny buyout Prime could be gone before the season begins. 😳
anything is possible, but people should accept the fact Prime loves it here (which recruits pick up on)

"The success has brought financial benefits to the university. CU has seen record sales for home games, and the 2024 season brought an estimated $146 million economic impact to the state. In the announcement, Sanders jokingly emphasized his long-term commitment to Boulder.

“Lastly, anybody got at least a five-bedroom home with acreage for sale?” he said."

If Coach Prime leaves us, we can go get Dillingham and make $6-7 million.

Dillingham's buyout terms on his new contract:
  • $5 million before Dec. 1, 2025
  • $4 million before Dec. 1, 2026
  • $3 million before Dec. 1, 2027
  • $2 million before Dec. 1, 2028

Definitely. Flagship school with a brand name, plus NC is the 9th largest state by population and the only state in the top 20 that neither conference is in (CO is 21st). UNC would fit in perfectly for the SEC from a geographic perspective, something the SEC values more than the B1G although UNC would also be a nice add with Maryland in the region especially if they also added UVA.

ND is obviously the the big prize still out there but until they get over their arrogance they're not a very realistic option right now.

I don’t think Dillingham would leave his Alma mater for a lateral move with a weaker in state recruiting footbed. ASU would likely get close enough to keep him.

It will be interesting to see the candidate pool CU would be swimming in during a post-Prime era, where there is an obvious emphasis on football excellence.

It will be interesting indeed with Saliman as president. We were on the cusp of falling completely off the radar in the P5 realm but all it took was leadership that realized the obvious value of a relevant and successful football program.
