These recruiting rankings, national (conference), should be good enough to be more competitive with tOSU in the conference than they have been, along with not play 3rd or even 4th fiddle in their own division. He just hasn’t done a great job there, relative to expectations or the talent level he’s acquired.Since we’re talking about elite production, finite degrees of separation matter. As long as tOSU, Alabama, Clemson, LSU, Georgia, OU, etc. are all willing to almost always make recruiting more important than academics, this is a barrier to championship success for Michigan. It’s not like Michigan has been terrible under Harbaugh. They just haven’t been good enough to win big. Academic standard bearing on their admin’s part is a major factor.
If he didn’t scramble he stared down one receiver all game. You are wrong. But we will disagree.

Draft Kings made massive coin on Texas winning. That was some epically bad officiating at the end of that Okie State v Texas game. Roughing vs running into the kicker, close catch overturn on that ball that hit the ground when it looked like he maintained control, weak PI, and a double helmet to helmet no call that ALL went against Okie State.
Edit: extremely weak PI call.

Distant. But in all those years they were 2nd or 3rd to tOSU in recruiting, were they barely 2nd or a distant 2nd? I'm legitimately asking because I don't know what the gap has been.

??? I’ve heard that Texas had big handle did they have unusual handle on Okie Lite reported?Draft Kings made massive coin on Texas winning.
You watched a different game than me. That’s OK. I enjoyed the game.If he didn’t scramble he stared down one receiver all game.
So... your argument is that tOSU is irrelevant to the topic? If you can recruit in the top ten most years you have a shot at a playoff every year. The excuses for Harbaugh are ridiculous
2016 - tOSU 289 pts to UM 280 ptsBut in all those years they were 2nd or 3rd to tOSU in recruiting, were they barely 2nd or a distant 2nd? I'm legitimately asking because I don't know what the gap has been.
That 5* discrepancy is huge though, especially when you look at the games and see who is making the difference on the field (think chase young and the bosa brothers). It also doesn’t consider that OSU landed the top dual threat qb in the country as a transfer with fields.2016 - tOSU 289 pts to UM 280 pts
2017 - tOSU 312 pts to UM 296 pts
2018 - tOSU 317 pts to UM 230 pts
2019 - UM 277 pts to tOSU 261 pts
2020 - tOSU 294 pts to UM 256 pts
The 5* allocation over that time was 15-5 in favor of tOSU. So yes, obviously UM has been put recruited by tOSU but not at an alarming rate or massive discrepancy so bad to have never beaten tOSU under Harbaugh.
I guess his results are pretty good, but just nowhere close to the elite in the country. Maybe Michigan should just stopped being talked about as a current blue blood?
That’s the other part that I don’t get. Harbaugh just hasn’t been able to recruit a QB who turned out to be elite. That 5* discrepancy is huge though, especially when you look at the games and see who is making the difference on the field (think chase young and the bosa brothers). It also doesn’t consider that OSU landed the top dual threat qb in the country as a transfer with fields.

Agreed. 0-5 is not acceptable. Then again, who is going to get them over the hump?Yea but still seems like Michigan should have gotten at least 1 or 2 wins over tOSU in those 5 years. And yes I realize Michigan had that controversial loss on the 4th down spot
DK had an odds boost from -180 moneyline or something like that to +200 for OSU. I usually stay away from these as it means something is up. I took it anyways??? I’ve heard that Texas had big handle did they have unusual handle on Okie Lite reported?
tOSU has better athletes, coaches, and has had better classes. Harbaugh is suppose to be an elite coach and recruiter and he is not. He has enough talent to be right behind tOSU but he can't even do that. He is a terrible person and more suited for the NFL.So... your argument is that tOSU is irrelevant to the topic?
But he has been right behind a couple of years atleast. Probably should have won that game in the shoe a couple years ago. I just think the difference between Ohio State and Michigan talent wise is a lot wider than people think. Ohio State, Alabama, clemson, lsu, Georgia and usually usc are just on a different level compared to those next tier programs.tOSU has better athletes, coaches, and has had better classes. That’s the question. Harbaugh might be giving them about as good as they’re going to get.Agreed. 0-5 is not acceptable. Then again, who is going to get them over the hump?
If that’s the case, then they need to be removed from the blue blood conversation. That’s the question. Harbaugh might be giving them about as good they’re going to get.
I don't necessarily disagree but Harbaugh was brought in to win a national championship and that was their expectation. He's not anywhere near that. He has supposedly got his QB this year that was the missing piece and still lost to MSU and Mel Tucker. But he has been right behind a couple of years atleast. That’s why you have State Troopers at SEC games.
Massive brawl at end of half. Drink and Mullen not happy with each other.
