College Football Games 10/3

Beating the defending champs and then losing to a team on a 20 game conference losing streak is so Mike Leach like.

fify

That's been his history for years. He knocks off a ranked team at some point and he loses one that's hard to explain.

His system is hard to prepare for and he gets somebody surprise. When he can get a defense confused he can overcome talent differences and make teams look bad.

If the system isn't hitting on all cylinders it can get ugly though. When a team messes up his timing and is able to limit his options he struggles.

It's amazing what has happened to OU's defense over the years. But OU's excellent offenses with those Heisman type of talent at QB masked those defensive shortcomings.

Oklahoma sucks. Their new quarterback is not very good and their defense is awful.

I give Riley credit for getting the most out of his QBs, but it seems like maybe his teams aren't as good without a Heisman candidate level QB leading the offense. Who knew?

(Apparently not the guys who thought OU would be just as good with a freshman QB.)

First local team to play this year.

AFA put a beating on Navy.

Have a number of friends who are retired naval officers including one who is an Annapolis grad. They tend to talk a lot the week before the game, probably going to be dedicated social distancers this week.
Just so you know, the Annapolis grad is the only one of those naval officers who gives a crap about Navy football.

I know, I was just mocking how the media portrays Leach while being ignorant to his flaws as a person and coach.

Keep in mind the Big 12 probably uses the same pool of refs that the Pac-12 uses right?

First win over OU in Ames since the 60s.

First game I've watched where I wished there was a full stadium.

Did anyone realize that OU might be the third best team within their own state?
