College Football News, Rumor & Humor

I thought it was kind of weird how ESPN made such a big deal about Herbie's dog traveling with him for Gameday and his broadcasts. I didn't know that Ben had cancer and Herbie was spending as much time as possible with him. 😢 Glad they had this time together and Ben touched a lot of people while making a bunch of new friends while getting spoiled.
I will always maintain that we don't deserve the unconditional love dogs have for us. On a side note, I read something from a vet the other day pleading with dog/animal owners to stay in the room with their pets when they are being put down. The vet said many owners can't handle being in the room for it and therefore say their goodbyes and leave the room before the dog has passed, and the vet is left watching the dog, in their last moments of life, frantically looking around for their owner in a foreign room with a stranger they have no connection with.

I'm a complete mess when it comes to the idea of my pets passing, and that ****ed me up.

TL/DR - If you have to put your pets down, understand that you are their whole world and stay in the ****ing room until they are gone.

I couldn't imagine leaving my dog. I think she also was so much happier just getting to eat treat after treat and not really having any idea that anything out of the ordinary was happening.

About 10 years ago we had to put one of our dogs down, which we never had to go thru before, and we walked out of the vet's office overwhelmed at how difficult that was.

If/when you have to do that again check to see if your vet will come to your home. When we had to put ours down our vet came to us. It cost extra but we at least were able to spare him the anxiety of being in a unfamiliar place.

We’ve had to say goodbye to several. So hard. We cook up a steak bone. Our vet has a special room that is very serene. We let them chew on the bone, sit with them and comfort them as they pass. A real tear jerker but a very spiritual experience.

I’ve done this with a couple of cats.

The first was really tough because he was young but was dying from a rare fungal infection. So in many ways, he was vibrant, but it became too much.

The second had a long painful battle with bone cancer that included a leg amputation.
He was a tough little cookie but when I knew the pain was getting to be bad again, I brought him in to the vet.

He was ready and happy and passed very peacefully in my lap. It was actually very comforting and felt right. I felt at peace with his passing.

I hate Miami, I respect Miami, I loved Miami's swagger, and CFB is better when Miami is good.
Same.
And I will continue to say, I can’t stand CU’s “swagger”…right now*. But if we turn into late 80s/early 90s Miami on the field, CU could be that one other team to match Miami’s swagger and I would embrace the **** out of it.

*we’ve been doing better this year compared to last, but there’s still some stuff we do that only dominant teams should do.
