College Football News, Rumor & Humor

I like how usc has celebrities on the sidelines when they are winning. Typical famous people non existent when not winning.

How long does this continue until the colleges realize that despite the money they can't continue down this path in the future.

At some point the only thing that will save college athletics from itself is some form of federal legislation that establishes the authority (or an authority) to make the rules that govern and enforce the entire mess.
Or, and hear me out, use the federal labor laws that already exist and establish a player's union and enter into a collective bargaining agreement.

The only reason to entertain a change to federal law is if your intent is to return to an exploitive model.

Who would the players union bargain with? Each school would have to bargain with a separate local that only represents athletes at that school. To have pro sports style collective bargaining you have to have legislation to allow it.

The current system is good for players. No salary cap, total free agency, no contracts. This is 100% tilted in favor of the workers.

Those providing the funds will eventually run into fatigue with the current system. I don’t expect people to keep tossing huge sums of capital into a system where they have no ownership. It makes no sense and I’m shocked it’s as much money as it is, but people will do some crazy **** with their cash.

I think it's good for the upper echelon of players who stay healthy and productive while being bad for the rest of the players.

Well, I think there’s a downside. But I’ve shared my opinion a ton of times. It’s great for the higher tier of, mainly, football players and men’s basketball players.

It is crazy but at the same time, I get it. If I had millions and millions of dollars, I would be throwing it around to try and see a CU national championship in my lifetime.
