I like how usc has celebrities on the sidelines when they are winning. Typical famous people non existent when not winning.

Or, and hear me out, use the federal labor laws that already exist and establish a player's union and enter into a collective bargaining agreement. How long does this continue until the colleges realize that despite the money they can't continue down this path in the future.
At some point the only thing that will save college athletics from itself is some form of federal legislation that establishes the authority (or an authority) to make the rules that govern and enforce the entire mess.
Who would the players union bargain with? Each school would have to bargain with a separate local that only represents athletes at that school. To have pro sports style collective bargaining you have to have legislation to allow it.Or, and hear me out, use the federal labor laws that already exist and establish a player's union and enter into a collective bargaining agreement.
The only reason to entertain a change to federal law is if your intent is to return to an exploitive model.
I think it's good for the upper echelon of players who stay healthy and productive while being bad for the rest of the players. The current system is good for players. No salary cap, total free agency, no contracts. This is 100% tilted in favor of the workers.
Those providing the funds will eventually run into fatigue with the current system. I don’t expect people to keep tossing huge sums of capital into a system where they have no ownership. It makes no sense and I’m shocked it’s as much money as it is, but people will do some crazy **** with their cash.
Comments are pure gold. The guy got excoriated. Ripped a new asshole. Not a single comment agreed with him/her.
Well, I think there’s a downside. But I’ve shared my opinion a ton of times. It’s great for the higher tier of, mainly, football players and men’s basketball players. The current system is good for players. No salary cap, total free agency, no contracts. This is 100% tilted in favor of the workers.

It is crazy but at the same time, I get it. If I had millions and millions of dollars, I would be throwing it around to try and see a CU national championship in my lifetime. The current system is good for players. Not find a cure for cancer? It is crazy but at the same time, I get it. If I had millions and millions of dollars, I would be throwing it around to try and see a CU national championship in my lifetime.
Wonder if my son can/should quote this in his statement of continued interest for his application to Notre Dame.
Shades of Lou Holz before the 1991 Orange Bowl.
Holy **** this is kind of wild
Well, it looks like the entire Kansas State team will get an extra year or two.It officially passes so all former JUCO players have another year of eligibility *cough* Preston Hodge *cough*
My only question is whether that extends beyond next season or not. For example, could a player have spent 2-3 years at a JUCO and have another 5 to play 4 at the FBS level?
Looks like transfer LB, Reginald Hughes, will also get another year.It officially passes so all former JUCO players have another year of eligibility *cough* Preston Hodge *cough*
Kind of a blast from the past. Andy Wang is the GM for NIU.
kjuco alumni admits to 5hitting his pants regularly via a double negative. All the glory to ya, bub. This is an all-timer
