College Football News, Rumor & Humor

Not much detail given. I would guess that this would be instead of a redshirt year where you’re allowed to play in four games. If that is the case, it’s not really an extra year for the guys who would have redshirted anyway.
Yeah im pretty sure it just replacing the RS and everybody would have a full 5 years of playing eligibility. It also removes the waiver process for the NCAA to review and decide on when it comes to extra years of eligibility, including medical RS, I would think.

Obviously more detail needs to come out but I like the idea of everyone getting a full 5 years of playing eligibility with no ambiguity, regardless of circumstance

It would be way too on brand for the NCAA to finally come up with a single simple, coherent, enforcable rule right at the moment that it could cease to be an organization with any authority.

Perhaps.

But the point I was trying to make was to ask why is everyone grasping for examples of how this can fail, when a spectacular failure happened in our own backyard only a couple years ago?

End of day though, it's pretty clear to me that one way to do it right is the way prime did it: start at the lower levels and work your way up. The other way is to, instead of lower levels, start as a position coach and work your way up.
I'm not 100% sure going to coach at a tiny college bringing your two NFL caliber sons to that university and then landing the #1 recruit in the country to play with your sons is an option for everyone.

Don’t know the details, but pretty wild on the surface.

Maybe not all that relevant, but I was curious so I looked it up. The UT system is different than the CU system. I had assumed that this was a downward career move since "President" would refer to the UT system. But apparently the UT system has a President for each campus. So, he was President of UT-Austin while UTSA, UTEP, etc. would all have their own President. Lateral move, then, to a better quality of life position at a smaller, private university without all the politics or public reporting.

Plus he got a raise!

Crazy. Most US university systems have the Chancellor in charge, while individual campuses are run by the president. (Ergo, CU is opposite most universities?)

“In the United States, heads of colleges and universities are typically called "president." A multi-campus university system may be headed by a chancellor who serves as systemwide chief, with presidents governing individual institutions.”

Yeah. Big thoughts there.

Yep. That’s the circles in which Prime and Texas operate. And this is just a chat board. Nothing more.

I’m trying to understand delay in contract including, according to Klatt, it’s sitting on Prince’s desk.

If I was Prime, I’d wait to see what happens in this FF group.

I don't think most coaches view the Cowboys job as desirable.

Lol of all the notions in this post, the most ridiculous is that the “MAKE THOSE KIDS SING OUR RACIST CHOO CHOO SONG OR ELSE” boosters would want any part of prime as HC at their university.
There’s also the fact that he has stated he has no desire to take over an already built program. That said, I think everyone here would be lying if they said they wouldn’t be at least a little worried if the Texas job opened up (same with Florida, Florida State, Auburn, Ole Miss, Miami, aTm, etc)

True. But, the one thing CU has going for it is desperation. I doubt any of the schools you list would let CP do his thing the way CU does. CU was desperate enough to give CP the keys to the kingdom, such as it was, to get him here. I doubt anyplace else would, and CP likes the way CU has set him up. (At least as far as I know). So, I would be nervous if UT and the big cigars came snooping around, but I wouldn't panic, unless they did convince him to leave, at which time I am fully on the ledge, and in need of a Dr. Drew level intervention.
