College Football News, Rumor & Humor

There’s also the fact that he has stated he has no desire to take over an already built program. That said, I think everyone here would be lying if they said they wouldn’t be at least a little worried if the Texas job opened up (same with Florida, Florida State, Auburn, Ole Miss, Miami, aTm, etc)

I think he has to at least take a call from all those. It’s all just speculation at this point.

True. But, the one thing CU has going for it is desperation. I doubt any of the schools you list would let CP do his thing the way CU does. CU was desperate enough to give CP the keys to the kingdom, such as it was, to get him here. I doubt anyplace else would, and CP likes the way CU has set him up. (At least as far as I know). So, I would be nervous if UT and the big cigars came snooping around, but I wouldn't panic, unless they did convince him to leave, at which time I am fully on the ledge, and in need of a Dr. Drew level intervention.

I think your read is correct. At some point, he’ll get a call. He listens. He stays in my opinion, unless someone wants to give him the keys, then he may have to think hard.

Lots happening in Power Conference Power Plays

This makes sense. The NCAA is so weak right now. If the conferences are going to take in rule making and governance, they are assuredly going to grab the money (NCAA BB tournament) as well.

But I think having 4 conferences that are all still acting separately and fighting for the power is not healthy for each sport because they are really not on the same page and they are not operating together.

The Schools have the power and yet they just give it away and unlike the NFL, they are not fully controlling the collective sports.

It would be better to set the standards for a variety of League Structures and then placing programs into those leagues rather than having scattershot organizations.

The CFP is a very unfair operation and acts like the Champions League which is fun, but incredibly uneven.

We all say the NFL sucks, and yet it is the most fairly run worldwide competition.

Yes. I agree. But I guess my assumption was that this is the first step toward some kind of non-NCAA governance structure that will collectively involve all four P4 conferences under one umbrella. You or Saban are leading candidates for Commissioner.

I would be Jimmy Carter to Saban's Reagan

I love corporate and organization formation and I have watched so many corporate assaults, and I just wish that CFB would find the middle ground of Community Betterment with solid Business practices and not just run amok Capitalism, but I am wrong and will be proven wrong
