Colorado Buffaloes v Texas Longhorns - Alamo Bowl, 29 Dec, 7pm MT - GAME THREAD

Gosh...those announcers are making Ehlinger more of a legend than he is.

I swear he is money. For a walk-on... I kinda love him
I'd rather have Evan than Dicker.

UT fans have to go nuts watching him. He hits long kicks in the wind then misses chip shots in critical moments of close games. The stereotype college kicker.

Tell you what, with the defensive players we have out, giving up two turnovers and buffs down only 7? Should have scored a td there but these guys don't quit . Second half is a concern with depth , offense going to need some time consuming drives. All in all, surprised at the score .

Seems like the defense settles in after a few drives. I'd like to see a couple other drives with Lewis but its obvious he is a little over his head or the staff completely doesn't trust him at all. Either they need to take off the training wheels or just keep Noyer in.

a few quick halftime thoughts.

noyer is throwing like we feared he would before game 1. he's amped and maybe the rotator cuff is messing with him.

the horn hurry up is ****ing up our less experienced defense.

gonzo is going to be a force in his career.

kid qb lewis was also over amped, but damn if he can get a little stronger this off-season, he shrugs off some of the tackles. also, didn't love the little hitch on his long good throw but that's coachable.

we're outgunned but in the game.

i'll take that at the half.

I know Noyer isn’t anyone’s favorite.. But, I’m curious as to what he would be with a full offseason, and some time to get used to being back there.
And shoulder surgery to fix his throwing arm. Need to see more Lewis in the second. Not the whole half but he needs to get more meaningful reps

He is clearly the better athlete and can make things happen.

The lack of playing time showed though when Texas ran some line stunts and he looked like the pressure was happening too fast for him to process on a third down play.

The college game just happens much faster than any high school game. This is why even if it were for a few series getting Lewis some time earlier in the season would have made a big difference.

When a guy gets to actually experience it at game speed then watch it on film and take it to the practice field it changes how he responds.

Noyer has been running the system for over 3 years until he switched to safety for one season. I like his leadership, but he has some fundamental flaws. Like Golic said, his deep ball is flat. He makes poor decisions. It is time to get Lewis ready. Also get Carter and Shrout ready to give Lewis competition for the starting job. Use Chandler in some WC packages.
