Colorado RPI Watch

After tonight's win at Oregon, the Buffs move up to #20 in the nation in RPI at 15-7 (5-5). [realtimerpi.com]

It helps that we've played the nation's 12th toughest schedule.

Top 50 opponents: #6 Arizona, #9 Kansas, #14 CSU, #39 UCLA, #43 Oregon, #47 Baylor
Top 100 opponents: #61 ASU, #63 Wyoming, #64 Stanford, #65 AFA, #74 Washington, #75 Cal, #89 Murray State
Top 200 opponents: #105 Dayton, #108 USC, #161 Fresno State, #166 Oregon State, #181 Washington State, #182 Utah, #183 Hartford
Others: #215 TX-Southern, #239 NAU, #249 Wofford

Friday games to watch: None. At least not for RPI. (Watch the women's games.) But I will be checking out the Siena @ Loyola-MD game at 7pm on ESPNU. Siena's O.D. Anosike is neck-and-neck with Dre to lead the nation in rebounding this season.

Murray State's win over a very solid Belmont team got them solidly in the top 100, as they're now at 93rd. They need to be careful tomorrow though, they face a Tennessee State team with the 3rd best record in the OVC at 8-3.

If Dayton, currently 103rd, defeats Temple tomorrow, they'll be in the top 100 as well.

Getting both Murray St and Dayton as top 100 wins would be huge.

Especially since they were neutral site wins. Committee love to see that you've been able to beat some quality teams outside your own gym.

Dayton absolutely collapsed down the stretch after being up by 10 with 4 minutes left. They get a gift from the refs that put them on the line for 2 shots (defensive hold on a length of the court pass)... and miss both shots. Lost 71-72. This is how a talented team ends up 13-10. They've got a toughness issue.

Total collapse by Dayton. It'll take luck for them to finish inside the top 10 of the A-10

NAU lost in OT to E Washington 74-75. They had about a 14 point lead with 16 minutes left and then EW just kept hitting 3s. 14/43 for the game, with 5 or 6 of them down the stretch and another few in OT. Tough loss for the Lumberjacks.

Not a good day for us so far.

Baylor goes final 75-48. 15-8 (6-4). They'll be interesting to watch down the stretch. Firmly on the bubble, but looking like a Top 50 RPI win for us.

Kansas is killing us lately, though. Just lost their 3rd straight. Oklahoma beat them 72-66.

Bad day for the Buffs.

Kansas quickly went from great shot at 1 seed to 3 seed or beyond...

Baylor should get in, but they're unpredictable as ever. I like them as an 11 seed at the moment.

Fresno State got absolutely curbstomped at San Diego State. No surprise, but the rough RPI day continues. Hopefully it will get turned around tonight. We've already dropped in the SOS rankings.

The hits continue. AFA decided to play no defense in the 2nd half at Nevada, giving up 48 points to lose by 5.

Texas Southern wins at Jackson State. Texas Southern improves to 10-14 overall, 9-2 in the SWAC.

Stanford up 14 in Tempe early in the 2nd half

TX-Southern just notched a road win at Jackson State. They're now 10-14 and charging the Top 200. Good result for us. We need it to continue.

Down to 7 now. I'm rooting for Stanford, figuring we can catch ASU in the standings, regardless of any adverse RPI consequences it may have.

Is that wrong?

ASU's schedule kind of sets up for them to fold down the stretch. Stanford is the more likely candidate to give the Pac-12 5 bids this year, imo. RPI not a big deal since we play each twice.

Wofford (10-15, 4-8) with a nice 59-50 home win over UNC-Greensboro.

Wyoming's getting smoked at Boise State (down 19-37 at the half).

Murray State is handling business so far at home against a dangerous Tennessee State (up 32-23 at the half).

Oregon is falling apart. Utah's beating them 30-22 in Eugene at the half.

Suddenly the Ducks are quite catchable

Murray State fended off a Tennessee State charge and has pushed it back to 10 late.

Murray State is going to get the win. Huge for them as Tennessee State was only one loss behind them in 3rd heading into this. Murray State moves to 18-5 and 9-2 in the OVC.
